So I’m considering ordering a set of BFG KO2s for my wife’s GX. I have them on my Tacoma and love them for the way they look, longevity, but also for their solid performance in the snow.
The thing is, the Tacoma has 17” rims and I was able to get them in a C rating which I definitely prefer.
Her GX has 18” rims and BFG only makes them in load E.
Has anyone added these? Was the ride quality noticeably worse/different?
MPG hit due to the increased rotating mass is not enough to sway my decision ... maybe a 0.25 MPG reduction. Fixating on unsprung weight on what is a truck based platform for me is ridiculous. In my experience the stiffer E-Rated sidewall improves steering response, reduces body roll and improves shock performance given the road input to the shock is not deadened by a softer sidewall. So when given the choice, I always go E-Rated without hesitation. Yes, brakes do wear out a little sooner due to the increased rotating mass ... but not enough of a difference to matter.
My wife LOVED the switch to E-Rated tires ... with her definition of "ride quality" being a vehicle that actually responds to driver input and does not feel like a marshmallow floating down the road.
Have them on my 2013 - have put about 2k on them since mounting them. I was hesitant to get them as I had them on a Tahoe SSV 4x4 and they were loud in that configuration. On the GX, they are awesome. I cannot tell the noise difference between these and the factory rubber on my wife’s 2017 GX. MPG difference is negligible. I’d buy them again in a minute. Am going to put a 1.5” level on the front end to help with looks and slight rub when I am slowing and turning.
Don’t know, have not done that. I use them in the NC mountain snow but don’t go off road much. Am putting on a level kit this afternoon so I may have to take it into the national forrest nearby and hit some trails.

What leveling kit are you going to use? I have been looking for something to level out the GX for a while and haven't found anything suitable.

Got an adjustable 1.5” - 3” one for the front and have a 1.5 donut type spacer for the coil spring that will go on today. Can’t remember the brand but I had seen them on this forum. Probably should have gone with a 1” for the front and I would have not needed the rear to be done. Oh well. My GX has 285-65/20 BFG K2s and I wanted to avoid the rub when braking or going over a curb and turning.

Sometimes a 1" front lift on the GX results in a slight amount of reverse rake, which ends up having to be corrected with a half inch spacer in the rear. So, the rear could become an issue even with the 1" lift.

I feel like my GX460 has more than 1" rake from factory, but I haven't measured yet. Good tip to look out for.
