The Lowcountry of SC is a very humid place 7 months of the year and putting a phone in front of a cold AC stream will cause it to be covered with condensation. It is not caused by a defective phone, just by the change in temperatures. The windows in my home get covered with condensation in the early morning during the hot months. I moved here from Fort Lauderdale, far more humid and same result with putting things in front of the vent. Not sure how humid Cali is but it is a real issue over here.

I use a magnetic mount with a modified Qi charger magnetically attached to it. I then rest my phone to that and it electronically squeezes the phone. I’ll try to get pictures later but it’s to the left side of the center vents so the vent output is not hindered while still having a secure wireless charging mount. All wires are tucked in behind the start button and steering wheel. I replaced the blank button by the differential lock button with a usb 3.0 charger for charging.

I don’t like wires across my console and I like the convenience of Qi charging. This is what I came up with.

The backlit is nice and it lights up in different colors depending on charging status. It’s tapped into the cigarette lighter wiring.

Metal plate epoxied to the back after I Dremeled off the ball mount.

Some nice customization there. Lexus could learn a thing or two from you and others on this community about improving the interior function of their vehicles.

I tried the Proclip first with the magnet mod but I didn’t like the way wires dangled and the vent was mostly covered. Personal preference though. I also placed a Qi charger inside the armrest for my girlfriends phone.

I also removed the USB jack under the sliding door and tucked it inside the center console. I then ran 2 USB extensions. One to a new USB port in the glove box and the other under the armrest to another USB port. Lexus placing it under the sliding door meant the door is open most of the time and it looked cluttered to me.

I also added USB chargers on the second and third row.

Power switch is for the cigarette plus for third row. To be used for fridge

12V outlet plus USB outset’s/volt meter.

ARB compressor

Air controller. Automatically sets the pressure to all the tires.

Those look like well thought out mods. Have you done any How-to posts? There may be others that would be interested in repeating those upgrades?
