Passenger Seat Rattle/Removal

The passenger seat has a rattle/tapping noise emanating from under the seat cushion and all attempts at mitigation without removing the seat have failed. My plan is to unbolt and rock the seat backward to gain access to the underside, my question is, do I risk popping an airbag(or 10) by doing this without disconnecting the battery? I'd like to keep power on so I can adjust the seat as I try to track down the noise. Of course if anyone has had this issue before and would shed some light I'd LOVE to avoid this if possible. Appreciate any thoughts fellow GX'ers.

It's one of those ...probably ok ...but I couldn't tell you with 100% certainty.
All FSMs state this in removal instructions
"CAUTION:Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. "

Per usual I got impatient and took my chances, good thing is there's more than enough cable to unbolt the seat and get access... bad news is I can't track down this rattle to save my life. And when I say rattle perhaps it's more of an annoying tapping over bumps/bad pavement. I never in my life have been so annoyed by a "luxury" truck... my Nissan Frontier with 200k has zero squeaks or rattles but this Lexus pops and creaks all over.
Next step is taking it to a mechanic and torching the credit card.
I appreciate the advice Acrad.

Have you pulled off the seat back panel to see if something loose inside?

No, far as I can tell the noise is near the front of the cushion next to the console.

Figured it out! The rear heat vent that runs under the seat and carpet was the culprit. I cut a small piece of rag and jammed it between the floor and plastic vent and the tapping has vanished!
