Previous cars were ES, GS and RX. All 3 had terrible road noise but then all 3 had terrible tires, 2 had Bridgestones and the GS had Dunlops. I have access to a 17 LS460 and at lower speeds and smooth roads, yes it is bank vault quiet but on rougher roads, the tires start to roar and esp at higher speeds but hten it also has terrible bridgestones.
I find my 18 GX to be very quiet in terms of road noise compared to all those others. The GX does have higher wind noise earlier and that is to be expected with its big side mirrors and square profile. All in all, if I do keep the GX after the lease ends in a few months, I will swap some TRD pro rims and tires with thicker side walls to improve the ride. It can get a little gnarly over rough pavements.
