So I went up north last weekend and you have to do a little dirt road driving to get to my cabin. My front suspension immediately started squeaking. Nothing bad and only when off road. I notice no change or anything suspicious in everyday driving.
83,000 miles and I do NOT have AVS system
I went to the dealership for an oil change and asked them to take a look and if they can lubricate anything to do so.....here's the response...
Any recommendations or words of advice would be greatly appreciated
My reaction would be to never return to that dealer for a quote!
From the mileage listed on the quote, I think it's a good time to consider upgrading your suspension (on all 4 corners) for less than the price they quoted for 1 strut!
Other than that, take it to a recommended local independent mechanic for a 2nd opinion.
good luck
They're just firing the parts cannon at it. I had a shop tell me a really bad squeak was the strut mounts, it ended up being a completely different bushing on a control arm.
Best thing you can do is get underneath it and move some parts around and see if you can replicate it.
are you 100% sure its the suspension? I thought mine too was making noises, when in dry conditions and when front suspension was activated. I replaced all of the suspension and noise still exists
after 3 years I finally replicated it, and its the hood. I am pretty sure its the hood bump stops

Had the same squeak from the hood and it was the bump stops, all it took was a turn or two on the bump stops to correct. Luckily I did not replace my entire suspension chasing that one...

thanks for that info. I was wondering how to fix it, wasn't sure if I needed grease or what. I will try this out tomorrow and hope it helps
I had a squeak in the rear I was sure was shocks. Turned out To be the tailgAte needed grease and it stopped. Same think on front but mine was also the hood
