13 GX460 Project - Paint Correction Plasti Dip 1st!
Just purchased a 13 GX460 in Black with Light Cream Interior and it is in much needed TLC.
First things first before any customization was bringing the car alive with a professional detail and paint correction. While in for paint correction we decided to eliminate the chrome with plastidip to give her more life. At the end of the day the plastidip is cheap and can be removed off the chrome. Here are some pics!

Same application on other cars (over plastic chrome) ... 4 to 5 coats, with leaning in the thin coat direction working best for even coverage, adhesion and more importantly tape removal. It's important to use paint-prep to remove anything from the chrome that will compromise adhesion. Also, since Plastidip is somewhat rubbery, removing the tape must be done very slow and with care. Running an X-Acto blade around the perimeter is sometimes necessary for a clean edge. Lasts a very long time and is surprisingly durable.
