Lightbulb Can the Upper Control Arm Ball Joint be replaced?

Hello

Can the Upper Control Arm Ball Joint be replaced for the GX460?

I tied finding the parts on the dealer site, but they only offer the full Upper Control Arm set. I don't want to buy the set as it's kind of expensive.

Then I searched AutoZone and they do have the Ball Joints only.

Before buying third-party parts, I am just wondering if it's removable.

Thanks

I have one set from my 2018 with less than 10k miles on it. I had a lift kit plus aftermarket upper control arms installed. I’ll sell it to you really cheap if you’d like them

Thanks for your offer. I had replaced the TieRod after further inspection, it seems like the upper control arm is still good.

I guess in the near future maybe.

Default Need to replace my ball joints, any other parts needed to finish the job?

Dealership is trying to charge me 560 per LCA PLUS another 1200 for 12hr labor because they have to drop the sub frame, NP!

Ive already found the parts online for half the price quoted (OEM). Do I need anything else/is there anything else I should replace (camber pins?)

also if anyone could recommend an independent shop in boston that'd be neat

thanks

That seems like nonsense... Google Toyota LCA replacement and watch the videos. Alignment most install.will be an additional expense... just mark it before removing it and it'll be close enough to drive it to get aligned.

Default Leaky Ball Joints?

EDIT - This is normal according to the dealership. Exact words from the service writer "That's the way it is on these vehicles"

Hello all, I got under the truck for the first time today to check things out after a week of ownership and I noticed a wet spot at the top of both (Passenger and driver) suspension knuckles.

The top 4 inches or so of each knuckle is wet, but it's not dripping on the ground or anything. Is this normal for these vehicles? I don't see a grease fitting on the ball joint, so I wouldn't expect leakage, but I thought I would ask the experts here.
Thanks all!

Mine is the same (both sides), am curious to hear if this is 'normal' or not.

AH good, maybe this is a normal thing then.
What year and how many miles on yours? I'm a 2017 with about 30K.

If the boot isn't torn, it shouldn't be leaking. You said the truck is new to you; was it possibly sprayed by the dealer with some slimy liquid to pretty it up? There's a difference in sheen on a part of the brake line and perhaps even the spring looking at the photos.

Hadn't thought of that. There isn't much space between the brake rotor and the wheel for detailing spray to get through, but I suppose it is possible.
