2022 GX Discussion - Black Line Edition in black and Nori Green Pearl/ AA CP 10.3"

LOL. Brilliant.
I agree: My use of the backup camera in my 2016 is secondary to mirrors. I don't need a 4K camera or 250 pixel per inch LCD on which to view it. Something better than what's on the 2016 would be nice, but I'd take better responsiveness before better resolution: I'm not a fan of the push and wait for response situation. Among other things it can take the driver's eyes off the road for longer than is necessary.

2022 GX460 Engine 4.0L V8 smaller 2021 4.6 V8 ?
Is the engine of 2022 GX460 (Engine: 4.0L V8 SMPI DOHC 32V ULEV II 301hp) smaller than 2021 GX460 (4.6L V8 DOHC Dual VVT-i 32V) ? Is Lexus change the new smaller engine for 2022 GX460? Thank.

Anyone with the '22 - do you use the keypad for controlling the infotainment, or do you just use the touchscreen? For those '22 owners who have had a '21 or earlier GX460, is the new touchscreen harder/easier to reach and manipulate than the older one?

I have a question. Some information I’ve seen shows that the black line edition also has all of the items from the premium package, but the window sticker doesn’t show this. Can someone confirm if this is the case?

The BL is equivalent to the Premium with the 1335$ premium package. The premium trim has wood center console storage covers where the BL has plastic covers. The BL has plastic covers on the window switch gear on the door where the premium may have wood but I'm not sure. The BL has the Prado roof rails, darked out aesthetics and exclusive wheels. Note that Lexus lists 'illuminated door sills' as a feature on the Blackline and Luxury trims but it is not on my BL or the ones I have seen.

I've used the touchscreen about 90% of the time.

I thought I'd hate the trackpad, but I found myself using it a LOT more than the touchscreen. I don't know how it started, I think to avoid fingerprints? Using the trackpad to go to the menu so I can select Android Auto, for example, is so much easier to just tap on the "Menu" button. While my hand is already there, I just move the cursor to Android Auto and double-tap the trackpad. It's so easy. I find it very intuitive and much easier to reach, although I will say this wholly depends on your body type/height and seating position. I feel much safer while driving to not have to shift in my seat or lean over.

Thanks! My local dealer hadn’t received any yet either when I brought it in. Also i ended up paying them 325 to install the hitch. Long story short I was planning to do it myself and got everything set up. Couldn’t even get the first bolt off with my 18v impact wrench lol packed it in and opened a beer lol Maybe have some penetrating oil handy if you try it.

Thanks for the tip!
I'd happily pay the dealer to install it for me before I pick it up, however, if it's after I pick it up I may just do it myself as I have all of the tools and a Master ASE Certified mechanic for a brother I'll just have to see if I want to go for a 300 mile drive to have it installed when the time comes.
11 weeks from being built to delivered is kind of crazy. 5 weeks from leaving the port in CA to get to central NE is even crazier. I hate the time we live in LOL.
I'll be happy when it gets here but being unable to tow anything for 4 months now while waiting for a vehicle is getting annoying. Especially since it's not going to have a hitch now.
ETA: Did you just go with P-Metric tires or did you go with LT E rated tires? I'm going with XL Rubitrek on mine in OEM size but yours look really good too. How's the ride?
