Brand new battery, same issue. It's always the driver seat/door that doesn't seem to detect the keyfob when other doors will. Does any know what other type of sensors are in the doors?

 

Other than the door handles, there are two proximity sensors inside cabin, one under the front console cup holder, second is under the cargo floor.

 

… on the other issue I reported … “Other electrical problems over time (related or not, I don’t know)… sometimes can’t lock/unlock car with key fob but works with door handle and vice versa. And then the next time it works absolutely fine. Sometimes it also says it can’t detect the key fob when switching on or after just switching on. And then it’s fine again.” … has anyone had experience of this or not, as I suspect I will still encounter this from time to time? Thanks

 

Played golf today and after the round, drive golf cart to where my GX is parked. Open barn door and throw clubs in cargo area. Close barn door and lock the GX with my key fob. Then I push lock,lock and then hold lock on third press. I see the lights flash every time I press lock but the GX doesn't start. I repeat this three more times to no avail. Drive golf cart back to club house and start to walk back to hot GX. Pull out my cell phone and open my Lexus App. Start the GX with my app. Walk back to my GX that's parked 100 yards from the club house and it's running. Open door, motor stops. Get in , start GX and drive home. It was a little cooler than if I had not done remote start but the key fob start is like you say, flakey.

 

I have a 2022 gx and my key fob isn’t unlocking or locking the door by pressing the button. The key fob let’s me get in the car by touching the driver side or passenger side door, and starts up the car just fine. When I stop the car and lock it manually there isn’t any sound at all like before . Anyone have this issue ? What’s the fix ?key fobs will not lock, unlock or trigger the panic alarm. Both have batteries with greater than 3v. Both illuminate the light when a button is pushed. Both will start the car without being held near the push button. No "key not detected" warning.

 

Have you check the settings? It should be under Vehicle , then Lock/Unlock section, where you can enable or disable certain key fob function, as well as the light and sound, etc. For 2022, those setting screen and menu items are little different from previous generation GXs. But it should not be difficult to access. Just reference your owner’s manual for detail.

 

yes I have tried fixing it that way. It still doesn’t work.

 

Since it’s 22 GX, if all the settings are correct, it will be the best to have dealer look at it as warranty services.

 

If the setting are good, I would swap out the remote batteries first. Just to possibly save a trip to the dealer.

If that doesn’t fix it, take it back to the dealer.

 

Our 22 GX has had a plethora of "key not detected", no unlock/lock, and just overall key issues. Dealer just blames it on poor battery voltage but it happens with new key batteries from them and myself swapping them out. Something is definitely wrong but they do a quick techstream scan on the car see "no issues" and give the car back to us. Frustrating and it's extremely intermittent so I can't get it replicated when we take it back to the dealer. Thankfully it hasn't left us stranded, but it's still extremely annoying and we've gotten nowhere with the dealership.

 

so you have the same issue ? Mine will start the car , unlock and lock my doors if it’s in my pocket . They don’t unlock or lock if I press the bottom on the key fob. I am taking it to Lexus Thursday . I can update you what they say. But damm I’ll be pissed if it doesn’t get fix . So your Lexus just gives it back to you not fix?

 

hey so I went to my dealership and they said they don’t know what’s wrong with it. It never happened before they said where they had this problem. They tried to reprogram it my car and they said it’s been registered to my car. They will call Lexus tomorrow to see what’s the problem. So their keeping my car over night.

 

I went through this about a month ago with my '22 GX 460
Touch sensors worked and the car would start just fine but the buttons on the 2 FOBS would not work.
The driver-accessible menus DO NOT have any options for this issue.
The dealer needed to put their tablet on the car and correct the menu. We have no idea how the option changed but all is OK now. The dealer handled it under warranty.
I came across a guy on FB where the dealer was not working with him and wanted to charge him as a non-warranty issue. Since there is now a record of this should they hassle you feel free to PM me for the name of the dealer and service rep so that your dealer can contact them directly.

Been happy . Comes as a pair and is color-coded for mine and the wife's key
