Less than two months later, it happened again... and this is since I moved my keys to my left pocket, further away from my cell phone.

I had a nail in my tire, and went to have it repaired.
The shop left the key fob on the driver seat for a few hours while it waited for the repair.
the next day, the battery was dead.

This also happened when I left my wife in the car for a while - car off, radio on, ignition off, key in car.

Wondering if this is coincidence, or the fob “working”, while waiting for the car to be started. And putting drain on the battery.

Since buying my 2015 CPO Lux 6 months ago, I’ve gone through 4 (maybe 5) batteries in the keyfobs (I have 2), plus the initial ones I changed out.
Anyone have any ideas why? I buy the freshest Duracells/Energizers at the store, and I put fresh ones in as soon as I bought the car.

I’m stumped...
Oh, I wear looser slacks and shorts, (not tight jeans), so I don’t think the buttons get pressed all day... I already thought about that...
That's very unusual. As others suggested, you'll need to have the dealer take a look. My GX460 is relatively new (less than 2 years old). The keys still have the original batteries and are working fine. On my 2008 LS460, I bought a couple of no-brand batteries on the eBay for $2 and the batteries are still strong after 7 months. My old ES330 didn't need battery replacement for nearly 10 years. So, it looks that there must be something wrong that causes the drain on your key battery.

Had a thought on this last night...
I realized that I keep my keys on top of my entertainment center, and about 3” above the DirecTV Genie Master box... (which is not only warm, but an RF monster)

I’m going to find another spot to stash my keys, and see if that helps... Super weird that it happens with both Fobs, regardless of battery source.

Had a Volvo remote that did this. I think it got wet a few times before it started to eat batteries. Not saying yours got wet but they do sometimes get dirty. Surface contamination on the board can cause a parasitic drain. Pop out the battery, get a q tip and some iso and clean the battery contacts and the board.

Definately a good thought, but the Fob is brand new, ordered by my dealer and occurs in that and my ‘original’ 2015 fob...
I’m thinking it’s the proximity and heat from the DirecTV Genie, or just proximity to the car. I’ll know in about a month.

Yeah, that's odd. Like you said, move it away the DirectTV to see if it helps.

I got the low battery reminder the other day and just replaced my '15 battery remotes yesterday - born 9/2014 - so it's a little more than 3 years old.

OP, do you leave the fob in the car overnight? When the fob is within 3 feet
of the sensor(s) it apparently keeps transmitting which drains the battery.

good thought, but no... it’s ~20’ away when not i use (home) or hundreds of feet (work).

Take the physical key out of the key fob.

Where the physical key was in the fob, there is an indentation in the corner, stick the tip of the physical key in there and twist. that should pry the two sides of the fob open. replace the battery, its a 1632 battery.

Online, I found the 1616 and 1632 will fit. Trust me, the 1616 does not. Get the 1632.

Update:
Almost 2 months, and the battery (knock on wood) is still working well.
It appears that storing the Fob on top (essentially) of the DirecTV Genie box may have kept the fob in ‘active’ mode...

Fingers still crossed, but this is almost 2 months, and I don’t think my batteries have made it near this long in the past.

The next day your wife was dead? I think your car is possessed. Did you name it Christine? (jk)
