I knew the back way in to their back lot, so I snuck in and took a tour of it.

We had two GX460's join my family in the last several weeks...

My wife and I bought a used 2015 (Premium Package + BSM + Power Fold Mirrors + Mahogany wheel/**** + Tow Package (We will tow a small camper locally) + Remote Start)
53K miles, 1 owner, White on Black
*Paid $34,500

My Mom bought a new 2021 Luxury
*Paid MSRP and got fair current market trade value on her 2009 Cadillac Escalade

I got almost $6,000 for my leased '19 Tacoma TRD Off Road, which I had only for exactly 2 years. I basically paid a little over 1 year worth of lease but got to drive it for 2. Although it hurt to pay sticker for my '22 GX, the trade-in certainly made it bearable.

Tacoma prices are crazy! I don't know how leases work, but could you have bought it out and sold it for more than you got for trade (maybe that's not worth the hassle).

That's essentially how the trade-in with Carvana worked. You're spot on about the Taco prices. All 4x4 trucks in general are crazy right now. While you can find RWD trucks coming in, pretty much all 4WD's you DON'T see on lots have already been sold.

The buyout for my Taco was $31k, I believe, but the market price for my truck (not direct seller to buyer) was close to $37k. Had I decided to buy it out and sell it a buyer, I would have had to deal with all the haggling back and forth like you said regarding the hassle involved. On top of that, I would be selling it for around Carvana's reselling price, except most certainly lower. Let's say they resell my truck for $43k (this is the going rate for my 2019 Taco with 18k miles and by the way, brand new in 2018 was $38k sticker!!!) and I could have sold it independently for $40k. I don't know that the extra $3k would have been worth it for me not to mention the time it would take to unload it (let's say I was lucky and I was able to sell it within a month) and it holding me back from buying my GX. I have other things to worry about like life, my work and other things, and my time is worth way more than $3k a month.

I really think I came out on top in that deal. I would advise anyone looking to sell or trade-in theirs, if they MUST, to do it now while it's a seller's market. Just keep in mind that if you have to buy one to replace what you're selling that it is a seller's market. Haha. The three things to balance when buying today are: one --availability (how long do you have to wait for the car you want?), two --pricing (no mark-up, consider yourself lucky if paying MSRP with no discounts), and lastly a vehicle you'll be happy with because you're paying MSRP for it.

Just signed the paperwork. Came out to about $1300 discount after it was all said and done. Not bad, considering everyone is paying at or above sticker.

They're putting the 275/65R18's on tomorrow, and I pick it up Saturday morning, on 10/30. Six years to the day that I took delivery of the Miata.

Hey everyone. I'm about to jump in to trade in my wife's XC90 possibly for a 2022 GX. Looking at the brochure, I'm going to want a Luxury model but can't determine whether or not you can get captains chairs on the Luxury model. You would sure think, but you can't when you build it online with the U.S. website. Any of you know or have one with? Thanks much!
