I so agree with this. I was hellbent on Starfire for the GX (I always buy white cars/trucks), but I was more than okay with Atomic when I bought my GX. It's so smooth and liquid-like on the GX. It makes a squarish car look curvier than it is.

I couldnt keep my eye off of it when I saw one on the road with red interior and black wheels. I was lucky enough the dealership had that exact combo with premium+ package when I got my 2022. It almost makes it too luxurious and it isnt in sync with its tough nature lol. Totally satisfied with it.

Hi,

Can you guys with the 2022 GX check and see if your passenger side
rear mirror dims? My passenger side doesn't dim and dealer said it's
the way these cars are made now. It's a 2022 GX460 Lux I just took
delivery on.

Thanks,

FP

The passenger side mirror no longer dims on any GX trim level as of a couple years ago.

Yeah, unfortunately, they skimped by doing it on one side and not the other. The only thing that bothers my OCD is that one has a bluish tint while the other is regular mirror finish. Haha.

In other news, my wife decided to just pay off the GX. We didn't see the point of waiting a year or 3 years or whatever. We've owned it for only 9 months but we're not big fans of the monthly payments.

Mine doesn’t dim either. Never noticed it.

Congratulations on your new Gx!

Default 2022 GX 460 - Removed Steering Lock?

All - Is anyone noticing that the 2022 model does not have a steering wheel lock when the car is off?
I took my GX in because I was getting an occasional spring noise from the steering column backing out of the driveway, and I noticed the steering wheel didn't lock.
The 2021s and earlier definitely do. After having it in service for a month to fix the issue, the dealer checked with Lexus tech and said they took that feature out?? Seems odd!

Thanks for your feedback.

I hadn't noticed it, however, I just checked my 2022 GX which was produced in 8/2021 and it *does* have a steering lock. I wish it didn't though as I find them annoying.

Someone maybe @Acrad posted a revision to OM that steering lock was removed mid production.
My 8/2021 has the lock.
Sucks to hear about the noise.

My 2022 has the steering lock. I think my GX was made in October, and I got it in December.

So Cal Lexus Dealer I purchased a "2022 Lexus GX 460 Premium" sight unseen on 8/3/22 (in transit by end of August) for $71,000* out the door (OTD) with cross bars accessory add-on (parts desk said hitch not available so I did not ask for it to be added on as part of deal; I visited the parts desk before sitting down to negotiate after visiting the restroom to get a cost for cross bars and hitch so I can factor that into negotiation to see what the cost would be for such parts; cross bars were ~$200). Dealer offer high balled me at $79,000. I offered $65,000. We met in the middle-ish at $71,000 OTD; at $71K the sales mgr asked can we do $71,500 so I knew I was in the ballpark of what he would accept, I said "no," I didn't even want to go pass $70k. He went to the back to get "approval" and he came back and said we have a deal and we shook on it. I put down $3,000 down payment.

*All cash offer up front. No dealer financing. Sales tax included in OTD is like ~10% here. MSRP window sticker price is $61,249 (= $56,125 base MSRP + $4,049 Factory installed packages / accessories + $1,075 delivery processing/handling)

The car is in transit, caviar black exterior, black interior. 2nd row bench seats is a must, did not want captain chairs.

Is this a fair deal given today's market since no contract was signed yet and car is in transit expected to land at so cal port 8/7/22?

Its not a horrible deal but I won’t pay over MSRP for a vehicle. The market is completely different in CA than NE though.

I doubt you’ll care about the extra $3K you paid for it in a few years though.

Thanks for the comment jlflicken.
Before the current market (call it supply chain and/or pandemic induced) i never paid over msrp either, OTD including taxes and whatever made up fees the dealer charged, i paid below msrp OTD, even for my 2017 Lexus IS200t.
In So cal, i checked about a dozen so cal dealerships and there was not a black in stock with 2nd row bench seating, I had to neg for one sight unseen coming in.
the sales manager did say when i offered $65K that that was something they wouldve taken before the current market situation, but not now since the car is not even in yet and the still had time to sell it even when it got to the dealer

before this i was trying to negotiate a volvo xc 90 T6 Insciption even though i knew it would likely break down (planned to get extended warranty) since my wife likes the looks of it, but i offered 72k all cash OTD and they wanted min 80k OTD (asked for $83k initially), so they let me walked and didn't even try to counter or negotiate. lexus GX460 is the better car though so glad i didnt get the volvo. lexus dealer was more friendly and willing to play ball. Volvo dealers were stuck up and did not budge.
