Thank you so much for the help. What is the best replacement light that is cost effective to buy? Name brand? Is it worth replacing both head lights with a newer version light for say the lexus 2021?

Perhaps look at some of the 3rd party '20+ conversions?

Gentleman,

I am trying to determine if it is the headlight bad or something else. I don't have any dig. tools to prompt the light to work correctly. I am getting power to the light so I wonder if there is something in the light such as a module or motor for the auto leveling of just that light. With these lights is there away to replace just one part? I hate to replace a whole light that other then that function works fine. Even when driving if I need to speed up and rear goes down both lights adjust at the same time to through the lights higher and then they adjust back down. So my thoughts are that there is a separate part that controls just the auto leveling at start up. Any help anyone could offer would be awesome.

Also does anyone have the direct link to the guy that is selling the 2020 Lexus GX460 conversion lights for the older models.

There is just the single leveling motor in each headlight. Earlier 10-13 models with AFS HIDS had two as they have both horizontal and vertical control.

It sounds like it is at least partially working. Lexus would only sell this as a complete assembly. I'm trying to remember if I have seen someone take a '14-'19 assembly apart for repair.

I would think that if it was one part that failed it would be part # 1 in picture # 1. As it looks like that would be the only part that would not adjust on start up? I don't know if it is that simple. I have found a part that I think it would be on ebay. That is if it can be taken apart to repair? Thoughts?

85663-30010 appear to be for XENON HID models. This would apply to 10-13 GX 460 models (if equipped with HIDs)

Unfortunately, I do not recall anyone replacing this motor in their 14-19 GX 460 headlights.

Question: While traveling down the road does it appear right side illumination is correct? You mentioned it is auto-leveling while driving.

This is a tough problem to troubleshoot because it isn't generating errors and is at least partially working with auto leveling.

I frankly can't remember a report here on GX 460 on '14-'19 LED but if someone else remembers a post please let us know. There is a report on one of the Facebook GX sites of a 10-13 AFS model that rests in incorrect spot but works correctly while in operation. That person is still investigating issue but that is the only other report (different headlight system) I can offhand recall.

Yes sir,

With no problem lights on drivers display and by all accounts everything working normal other then at start up it is hard to dig. the problem for sure. Just wish I knew what would cause the head light to not work right at start up, work normal for everything else it does and does not display a problem light? I thank you for all for help and I hope someone will see this post and possiabley help shine some light on what might be causing the problem.

Gentleman,

Can the headlight leveling motor right side/passenger be changed without having to pull the whole head light out? If so how do you ensure it will line out properly when reinstalling the new one? Finally got the part in and was curious.

Thanks
