It appears it can be done in vehicle if you could get your hands in there. They show in FSM removing it from vehicle.

Am I just suppose to be looking at figure 6. and below? The rest appears to be bulb changing information? From the pictures you sent me in previous post of the headlight it appears that the motor is back side of the light and nothing has to be removed like listed above. Of course that is a picture that I am going by.

I included full disassembly in case the bulb needed to be out for some reason to remove this part. This is out of a FSM that covers 14-19 models.

There is a chance that the cover that goes over the headlight bulb area might have to be removed as well for the leveling motor to turn for removal.

EDIT: Look at #6 on reassembly.. you do have to have bulb area open and hold the "LED Unit" as you attach the leveling motor.

Thank you so much for all the help and information. One last question if I don't have to remove the bulb cover will I have to hold the LED UNIT? In other words if the cover is not removed will the LED Unit stay in place where I don't have to hold the LED Unit?

Sorry…I really don’t know for sure. I’m not aware of any close up pics how this attaches inside other than FSM graphics

If someone with a borescope camera could post picture it would be appreciated. Removal of cover with pics of leveler motor attachment is what is needed.

Thanks

I have different headlights or I would do it myself

I hate to drag out an old thread but I cannot find the answer to my questions: How do you tell if you have AFS? I know about the auto leveling, but I read on a Facebook group for GX's that members have the AFS that goes from side to side depending on the direction you're turning.

Thank so much for the help.

In US market AFS HIDs were standard on 10-13 Premium and optional on base models. No AFS LEDs on later models.
