Personally I would take a 2017-2021 LC200 over the LX, but again I like land Cruiser's so I'm biased, got my wife a 2021 GX when local dealer had too many on teh lot and discounted them to got rid off the 21's before the 22's came in

Reviving an old thread but curious is you still have your LC? If so do you miss the GX? I was cross shopping these two heavily earlier this year and ended up going with a 200 Series Heritage Edition. Definitely agree with all your points in the original post comparing the two.
As much as I like the 200 I am not sure it's going to be my "next 10 year vehicle" like i had imagined and I'm considering trading it on a '23 GX due to the refreshed center stack (carplay) and overall nicer interior, lower cost (I'm in a position to own the GX outright vs making payments on the LC) and last but not least, I prefer the smaller size/slightly better fuel range. The reason I didn't go GX in the first place is being hung up on the looks (not a fan of the pred grill) and just having a desire to own a Land Cruiser. I wanted the real McCoy and let's be honest, Land Cruiser > GX in that regard. The other idea is to just wait it out and pick up a new 250 Series LC/GX once they are rolling off the assembly line in the next year or two.

I wanted a Landcruiser because I wanted a Landcruiser. Now I own one and think the GX is a better vehicle. That hasn't changed.

I think you might have a freak GX that can get 300+ miles to the tank? Or your new one does as well?
Also surprised to hear the LC does not have as good seats and interior as the GX.
I have LX570 and sat inside 2023 GX and felt it was opposite.. maybe you got a freakishly good GX there too.
Alot of people will say the GX is basically same size inside but once you put in 2 car seats the LC / LX you can still sit in the middle 2nd row but GX you basically cannot do that.
The trunk space is more in LX even with the 3rd row, but the 3rd row folded does limit the width. For a "build" 3rd row gets removed anyway.
To me they drive very differently, the GX is easier to drive even though just couple inches less here and there. There is a U turn on our normal route that I notice right away the turning radius of LX is more enormous. No wonder they put in a rear tire drag tire feature for switchbacks..
95% for me is the does the kids get sick test (how often you have to clean up the car), kids seems to get sick in the GX (to be fair other SUVs as well) but not in LX, the LX suspension levels when you brake. I know the LC does not have that, the LX is really well planted on all axis and I like that.

If driving "normal" (a bit more aggressive with acceleration and 85+ MPH), I'll get 280 mile range (not including the 1gallon reserve you still have when "Range" reads "0".). Estimated MPG reads closer to 13. Also reset "Odometer A" at every fill-up and it closely correlates with the "Range" and MPG estimates, and # of gallons used to top-off.

I quite regularly get 320-350 miles per tank out of my GX. It's a 2010 with 178k miles and has a steel front bumper and 265/70/17 offroad AT tires. How much city are you driving and or towing do you do?

Mixed city driving.. nowadays in CA highway is same as city driving LOL
I usually fill up around 280 miles light come on, does the 460 have a bigger tank? I know car display is not but I got better than sticker 17+ lifetime on my 470 (real value is less for sure), I already felt the 470 was not bad on gas (relatively). Good to see the 460 seems even about 10% better.

Highway cross country road trip I got 20ish MPG so around 380-410 miles per tank. If in town and it is hilly, then the GX really suffers - closer to 15/16

We are at 310-340 range on a tank.
Pretty much use Costco gas all the time, not sure if its a good gas, but engine runs smooth and getting closer to 30k miles

The LX is not a fair comparison. Being a Lexus it too has a nicer interior than it's Toyota brethren. (The actual Land Cruiser 200, not the LX 570). I can only compare to the '22-'23 model GX's but putting those up against my LC Heritage Edition they are a clear step up on interior materials and touch points. This isn't to say the LC has a rubbish interior, just that you can tell it's a Toyota when inside. Fake wood trim, lots of plastic, no double pane glass, etc. Fit and finish is nice though. Everything nice and snug. When it comes to Toyota it really is their best in that department until you step up to Lexus.

I really really wanted a LX570 when I knew the wife wanted to upgrade our 07 GX470, but what we could afford just didn't make sense. Anything under $40k was a 2013 or older with over 100k miles, and as much as I wanted one we just couldn't justify the costs. We ended up getting a very nice 17 GX460 Luxury with 56k miles for $37k and I am 100% happy with it. Hoping we can keep it for 10+ years.
There really is something to be said for a smaller capable SUV like the T4R or GX, and I understand why they sell so well. Yeah sometimes they are too small, but that is like 5% of the time, but rarely are the too big. What's funny is she really wanted a Tundra, but they are just so damn big, and that might sound weird coming from a 6'2" 260lb guy, but we honestly would rarely need that much room.
