Again, I'm happy with their reply, not hiding that they know it will potentially hyper flash after longer usage, also there is a user "GXBOB" I think, had a youtube video where he tested them for 5 min no issue, but that was a pre 2020, so it could be that 2020 --> are more sensitive to load resistance.
I just picked up two VLR-6 resistors from VLEDS to handle this once and for all, though I expect I may need two more in the rear. I won't install them until the spring.. it's too cold to be wrenching on anything right now

their response is good. Personally I wouldnt mix built in with external resistors. This is because although they call them inline they are not inline electrically, thay are in parallel. this will drop the resistance too much because now you have 2 added, one from the buiolt in and one from the external.
this also applies when connecting a drl to another wiring. this will decrease the resistance that the supply perceives because these are also added in parallel.
any leds without resistors for heat only purposes as in flashers wont really make much difference
