Hi,

I have GX460 2015 and I am noticing a clicking noise coming somewhere from the back. Looks like something is hanging but i can’t figured it out. It only happens when car starts picking up speed. I mean I do not hear this noise when driving slow in parking or in crowded space.

I tried to remove the toolbox, first aid kid and folded all the rows, but same problem. There is nothing else there which can possibly cause this noise.

I am thinking to remove the spare tyre because it’s chain is also hanging. But the noise seems to be coming from interior.


Any idea?

if it's more a metallic sound it could be the chain for the spare tire, lower it and wrap it in a rubber band to keep it from tapping (has worked for 3 years for me)

I tried lowering that tire and wrapping a cloth around but no luck. I then took it to lexus servicing and they told 3rd row seats are loose and shaking. They have now tightened the 3rd row and there is no noise now.

I bought my 2015 GX a year ago with 125k miles on it.

I’m recently hearing the exact same noise that you are describing. It sounds like something hanging from the bottom of the car and swinging and hitting as I drive. I though it was coming from the rear left door, but I have not been able to actually determine it’s precise location.

I’m in Houston and would love to know where to go for good service on my GX that is not the dealer, like suspension (mine started squeaking).
