Default Gx570

First post here so don't really want to get into the whole introduction thing but I like to say I am one to be "a trend setter" not much of a "follower". As far as I know no one has done a 5.7 swap into the GX platform so I am gonna be doing it soon as in maybe next week if my work load allows.

I have also built the first 4.7 iforce v8 2nd gen Tacoma 4x4
I have a 2004 is300 with 800hp

I am looking forward to this experiment.

Aren't engines on the outside at least dimensionally about the same?

What do you perceive to be the greatest challenges? Are you using the ECU out of the Tundra as well?

The ECU and BCM are my main curiosities.

So this is where I am with this, I started on this project about a week ago and so far I got this information to share.

The 3ur and the 1ur blocks are definitely not the same the 3ur is a wider "v" than the 1ur and is taller

The heads on the other hand are the same... not this is the same but just gotta change this kinda the same it is actually the same heads.. my 1ur has 3ur heads they are literally stamped 3ur- LH and 3ur-RH

The upper and lower oil pans are interchangeable. I am using the 1ur oil oil pans on the 3ur.

The a760 bolts to the 3ur BUT need to redrill to fit the starter and use the 1ur flex plate

Why not post up the info anyway? That way newcomers can have it as a record to search for.

I'm curious how you handled the BCM and infotainment. Did you use the factory GX's ECU and BCM? Any modifications to the factory wiring harness?

I was gonna post the link here lol, new threads are usually posted on the top of the list and get more attention

The factory harness from the GX was used along with the factory ECU .

We can keep bumping your thread to the top.
Post a video of this thing running! Are you on factory diffs, driveshaft, etc?
