Does anybody know if Lexus will produce GX Luxury without sport design package in 2023? I have an order with deposit for GX Luxury with 7 seats and off road package since October 2021 with no delivery date yet. I want a GX with leather seats, 7 seater, and off road package. Should I just give up?

If I was in the market right now... and I am not... I would probably consider importing a fully loaded Canadian 2023 Nori Green Pearl Executive model w/black semi-aniline
I could get my cool box as well :-)

Strange, seems that Canada, at least in '22 and '23, doesn't seem to get Ecru interiors.

Tempted by the Nori green here in Canada. I haven't seen the Nori green in person. Is it similar to the army green Tacomas/4runners/Tundra? That green looks plastic like on those models and wondering.

How easy is it to import one from Canada? A cool box is nice.

I don't think you will be able to import a new GX from Canada. There appears to be a 25 year rule where importing a vehicle over 25 years old is easy, newer than that is very difficult. Also there are very few GX 460's in Canada, only about 350 units are sold in the entire county annually, I would say all dealer allocations are presold and some customer are on 1 to 2 year wait lists. But yes the cool box is very nice, we love it in ours.

Personally, if there was just going to be one option of rear seats, I think the bench is the better fit for an SUV - captain seats seem more like a minivan. But I get that others may prefer it. Also, to be fair, I also prefer just having a big cubby, rather than the cool box, but it is amusing that we don't get it down here and y'all do.

From what I gather you can bring any vehicle model that was sold in both countries. I don't know if this excludes any model years where one wasn't available during a specific period.
I've seen a number of earlier Canadian 460s now in the US for sale as well as on this forum.
I remember back in early 2000s many in my area would goto Canada for the early 2000's GM Duramax diesels.. it was substantially cheaper than in the US.
Perhaps taxes make it a non-saver at this point ... I think the exchange rate was further advantageous to US purchasers as well.

I imported a used vehicle from CAN to USA a few years ago. The vehicle was less than 25 years old and qualified for the similar-model-sold exception Acrad references above. There was plenty paperwork, fees, and even a quarantine period involved. I did it because it was a rare vehicle but would not have done it otherwise. I imagine there would be other hurdles with a new vehicle including warranty support.

Why not just find the part number and install it in a US GX? Is that not feasible?
