2022-2023 GX Infotainment Questions, Problems, Concerns
#95
My guess is they are referring to a wireless Android Auto or Car Play adapter - so that's what my reply is based on. While I can't speak for this one in a GX, (as our new GX is apparently on the worlds slowest truck from Newark to Pittsburgh and we still don't have it yet) I can say it works great in my 2018 GMC Sierra Denali.

Recommendation from RX350
When I bought RX350 in January i researched these a lot. The infotainment seems to be exactly the same. I bought 2023 Upgraded Hieha Wireless CarPlay Adapter from Amazon. Connected it (pretty easy) and no issues. Maybe had to unplug it and plug it back twice during the last 10 months. I like it.

I bought this. Its ok, not great. A bit of a delay when moving around screens in carplay. and if you get out of the car with your phone while its still running to go into a store or something and get back into the car, it wont reconnect. but for normal daily use to and from work, it works.

The one I linked above also has a slight bit of lag when "pausing" Spotify or navigating screens - however - mine reconnects like a champ every time I turn my truck on - so that's a plus.

Does anyone know if the ML amp is located above the driver's side rear wheel well (MY 2023)? My tech thinks a surround sound distortion issue is being caused by a bad amp. It would appear to be a fairly invasive procedure to access it. I think most of the rear interior would have to be removed. It seems like a gamble to go through that w/o knowing for certain that its the amp. The assessment was made purely via a listening session. I would have thought there would be a diagnostic process of sorts?
UPDATE: Maybe somebody can benefit from this. My tech claims the amp is beneath the passenger front seat. There is a plastic cover of sorts that I can see and it has a few square holes in it which allow me to probe the inside w/ my fingers. I can feel what I think are extruded aluminum fins. This does in deed make me think amp. That's a much better location for accessibility!
UPDATE 2: Per the dealer, the replacement AMP didn't fix the problem. So they put the old AMP back in and replaced the center dash speaker. They claim it is fixed now. Time will tell. So if anyone has distortion coming from their system while in "Surround" mode, the center dash speaker is worth a look see.

My navigation apps on Iphone cuts out when driving my 2023 Lux
When set on my Iphone speaker and the engine is running the voice of the navigation apps turns off on my Iphone.
Why is that?
I can take phone calls without any problem.
i can also take calls via blue tooth through my car speakers but the navigation apps dont play the voice through my car speakers either.
Very strange.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

Annoying Radio ?
I have a 2023 gx460 premium. So I am a bit confused as to why when the engine is turned off the radio shuts off and the steering wheel retracts back if, I want to continue to listen to the radio in axillary mode I have to hit the start button again at which point the steering wheel comes out.
Is there a way to bypass all of that? the radio and or other electronics should remain on until you open the door, not when you turn off the engine. When you sit at the train crossing and just want to listen to the radio without burning precious fuel it is annoying to keep turning the ignition off and on.
