First, I know this may be more applicable in the maintenance section, but the last time that thread was seen was 2020.
I'm just trying to understand the maintenance required warning comes on. I had set a reminder based on when supposed maintenance was done prior to me buying the vehicle, and it just went under 5,000 miles left. But now all of a sudden the maintenance required light has come on. So I'm trying to understand if there is an internal clock keeping track of need for oil change, or if it could be triggered by something else. Because I believe it's only been 3k miles since the last service was done prior to me purchasing the vehicle.
That 5K reminder within instrument cluster is just a non-configurable alert based on a 5k mile interval. It cannot be configured or deactivated on 10-19 models. I believe the same is true with 2020+ but haven't looked into it recently.
It is not based on any other criteria other than mileage and requires a manual reset listed in the other thread.

Thanks for the response. I do have a 2020, so not sure if different. So even if it turns on every 5k, basically you just ignore until it's time to really perform service based on mileage you know, or reset? Nothing truly signaling when service is needed, right?
If I remember it correctly, the reset procedure is:
with ignition on, make sure the odometer is at Trip A display. Then turn the ignition off. While holding the odometer button and push the start to turn on ignition, the reminder will be reset it for another 5000 miles.
make sure that you are doing this without food on the break, meaning not start engine, only the ignition.

Our 2021 is set for 10k intervals, you see teh service in miles reminder when you start it in the odd place
I am curious on what they did to change that setting. I can't find anything in FSM that covers up to 2021. There is a parameter that shows how far past the oil change reminder the driver has gone..... apparently up to 25,500 miles. Perhaps an undocumented TS customization?

I'll take a picture tomorrow and post it, maybe we are not talking about same reminder?

Are you talking about the maintenance page under the vehicle settings menu? I think the OP is talking about the message on the dash and not the infotainment screen.

Here is what I see when I start teh car, teh maintenance reminder/wrench and below the ODO after teh reminder disappears
