Hello I have a 2010 gx 460 and recently I’ve been having problems with the gas. A couple of months ago I was driving and my Lexus shut off out of no where and it has 24 miles of gas left. When I got it towed and put gas in then it started working. Then the other day it shut off on me again but this time I was closer to home and it had 65 miles of gas left.
Can someone please tell me if it’s the gas floater thing or a sensor?

More than likely need to replace the fuel gauge sending unit

Test the theory by carrying 2-gallons of fuel ... once added, should be good for another 32-odd miles. Just make sure you are not too far from home or from a gas station inside that added range.
