Default 2022' Front turn signals cracked/broken

Noticed on my 22' the front turn signal lens (right above the fogs) are cracked (drivers side) and broken (passengers side). Not sure when/how it happened, but they seem delicate as there is no other damage to the paint etc that is noticeable. I've driven behind others in construction zones and dirt roads, but always kept a far distance.

Anyone else have damaged front turn signal lenses?
Thanks

Probably from a rock, travelling a speed a rock can be like a bullet causing this type of damage.
I noticed the other day I have a crack in the mirror signal light lens, the only source I can think of is from a rock.

Thanks for your replies
A closer look and I saw some chips here and there. Yes, lucky the headlamps nor the fog lamps had been damaged.
Perhaps it would be wise to purchase something like these: https://www.weathertech.com/lexus/2022/gx/lampgard/

When I remove them I'll report the part numbers. I'm having a hard time finding them online as there are conflicting and overlapping years part numbers. They appear from pictures online to be the same from 2014.

GX4602011, I highly recommend something like what you linked in your post. I have XPEL on my GX and it includes the headlights. I had XPEL on my previous vehicle (a 2013 model) and over 8+ years of ownership, never had any cracks or issues with the headlight covers.

Best.

If it's a 2022 you should still be under warranty. Be firm and it will be fixed at no cost to you. That is an obvious defect from the factory or damaged during transport and not noticed during PDI. The crack was small to start and grew as you put miles on.

I would agree if the signal light was like this when taking delivery but he stated "I've driven behind others in construction zones and dirt roads". Damage caused after leaving the lot will not be covered under warranty, but I guess it is worth talking to the dealership, they may feel generous and offer something.

Wife's '22 just developed a crack on the left front turn signal lens after a road trip last week. I assume a rock hit it, but was shocked to see it already damaged with less than 12k miles. Regardless, does anyone know if the 14-19 lenses fit? They're about 1/3 the price of a 2022 model year turn signal lens based on OEM part pricing. Hard to tell from photos but they look extremely similar. I know they do technically have different part numbers.

To clarify, I've own this for 6 months now and have done a lot of dirt road driving recently so the damage is most likely from sharp gravel impact. Most drivers slow and pull right when an oncoming vehicle approached on dirt roads to minimize damage up here in Alaska. Many tourist and those who don't normally drive on gravel roads hog the center and just race by spraying rocks. We have a term here called 'Alaskan Windshield', once people get one they typically learn to slow on dirt roads when meeting another vehicle.

Found the part numbers and MSRP prices:
2019-2022 - Front Left: 8152160470. MSRP: $306.21
2019-2022 - Front Right: 8151160600. MSRP: $286.95

2014-2019 - Front Left: 8152160461. MSRP: $97.51
2014-2019 - Front Right: 8151160591. MSRP: $97.51

Not sure what the differences are, anyone know?

I see that there are after market options for the 2014-2019, starting as low as around $50 each for CAPA certified (3rd party, OEM specs., that meet insurance replacement standards). I may go that route if I don't see a difference and if they fit as the later OEMs would be near $500 with a discount and they may end up breaking too.

More later.
Thanks.

I'm ordering a 2014-2019 front left, 461 ending part number from a Lexus dealership on eBay. That way I can return if it doesn't match up. I'll provide an update here once I get it and try to fit it up. It's very difficult to tell, but they look very similar if not interchangeable. I do know the shells are the same based on the diagrams but maybe the clips or color of the lens is different? I'll keep this post updated with photos.

Thanks, I look forward to your reply as I too intend to order the early style.

I removed the right/passenger side to have a look and to put clear tape over the small hole while waiting for the replacements. I found it difficult to get the retaining tabs to release as I worked under the vehicle with limited visibility. Only a 10mm socket and small flat blade screwdriver is needed.

1. I removed the lower front bolts on the inner fender well and a few along the inner fender to pull it away for a better access and view.
2. I removed the foglight assembly first, three 10mm bolts and unplug, the housing comes out easy, it's really big for such a small lamp.
3. There is a wire clip for the turn signal bulb wire and I believe crash sensor, pull that off from the lamp housing and remove socket/bulb from the lamp.
4. One 10mm bolt holds tight the lamp housing, it is located near where the bulb goes in the housing. No need to remove the foglight bezel.
5. The most difficult part for me was releasing the three tabs (couldn't see them, did by feel). There is a small tab at the lower end of the tab, where one would depress with a small flat blade screw driver to release the lamp housing from the bumper cover.

My 2022 didn't have a part number on the housing and looked just like the 2014-2018 version (as pictured online) from the rear.

Hi all,

I got the housing in pretty quick and just finished up with installation, TLDR 2014-2019 Front turn signal housings DO FIT with zero issues!

I will warn you to be VERY CAREFUL installing these. I can easily see how these get cracked by a rock or hard object from the road, because my clumsy self unboxed the new one and when I was taking the below side by side photos, it tipped over and literally cracked within 2 mins of being out of the box (kicking myself for ruining a $100 part). But the bright side is that I just chipped some of the edge of the housing and it did not compromise the seal, which is why I was replacing this one as water had already seeped into the area where the bulb goes.

So with that said, see below for my installation photos and side by side comparison of a 2019-2022 - Front Left: 8152160470 and a 2014-2019 - Front Left: 8152160461. I even included a picture of both installed on the car to prove the gaps are identical! Hopefully this helps anyone in the future as well. I am looking at buying a sheet of PPF to wrap these and protect them so we don't have to go through this again soon.

Thanks for doing the legwork on this one! My DS assembly has been a little loose ever since I got the GX.. time to check it out.

Now, if only a reputable aftermarket company would produce these as full LED assemblies, that would be sweet!

Glad I could help! I think my OCD might take over on this one and I'll just order another new one. Thankfully it wasn't the $260 part number, I knew that this was just an update on a part number but nothing changed. I was hoping I could also find some LED full housing replacements, I just have some bulbs with built in resistors that work well, but the GX really keeps riding the old incandescent train.
