Default Adding more 12V sockets in the front

So after today I find that GX 460 has only _one_ 12V socket in inconvenient location while even RX 350 has socket in console box, I decided to add more.
Few questions about them
1. Console box. I had 12V in my old 4Runner there. Question - is wiring already present under console box so is it possible to easily add 12V there? Did anybody do such mod?
2. Glove box. Does anybody know original part numbers (may be from Prado?) for highlighted location so I can add USB and 12V sockets there? Also same question about wiring - is it already there so I can just hook up or do I need to add extra and attach to fuse box?
Thank you!

Here is a large thread about adding 12v outlets. Posts starting around #39 talk about adding outlets in the glove box and wiring them.

Bottom Line Up Front: Those are just switch blanks with nothing behind them. Adding outlets there is not difficult and powering them with an add a fuse or t-tapping the cigarette lighter outlet wiring is very easy.

I highly recommend you start there and it will be worth your while to read the whole thread.

Thank you!
I thought it was only for back row (I check first ~20 posts), now going to learn there!

I soldered a connector to the cigarette port, then ran a wire from the glove box to plug it in. Works great.

Such a terrible oversight that Lexus didn't put some USB ports in the back. I ended up just getting a giant external battery for the kids in back. Would have been nice for them to just plug directly in the car.

Somehow cheap SUVs are able to put plenty of USB ports, but not a Lexus SUV that's one step beneath their flagship.

Everybody says the same thing. They are not wrong but the GX architecture is old; old enough that nobody was putting them in the back when it was designed.

Toyota and Lexus don't change things unless the need to. Toyota and Lexus don't jump on bandwagons until they absolutely need to and they can make it "reliable". That is their nature and business model and Lexus sells every GX they make and always has.

That answer will not satisfy you but it is the truth.

There is a PLUS side to this archaic architecture. It makes modding easy.

^ This. Adding USBs and 12V sockets are super easy to add using various techniques. There’s a lot of easy modding you can do to this platform.
