I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Roof Rack for my 2017. Help me make a decision. What roof rack do you have and what are the pro's and con's? Right now I am leaning towards a Prinsu. There appear to be multiple manufacturers for this style. Are there any others/types to consider? I do not plan on using a roof top tent or anything. Most likely it will not need to carry more than a couple hundred pounds at any given time.

 

I think the Gobi ranger is the most attractive personally. The bolt together flat pack ones look cheap to me.

 

Westcott Designs roof rack for the GX460. Love the clean, streamlined fit. Will look OEM like, when not having anything attached to it.

One thing to consider ... many are so low to the roof ... restricting access for the ability to physically clean the roof ... so layers of sediment over time becomes almost impossible to remove ... ultimately compromising the paint. A consideration ... physical roof cleaning access beyond just spraying with a high-pressure wand.

 

I have the frontrunner rack.

Pro's - many attachments and accessories, many other companies make their parts to fit this rack, and very heavy duty.

Con's - Expensive and sits higher than other racks such as prinsu.

The integrated ones looks nice. But I would go with a Rhino rack that have the bolt on feet.
