that means I got screwed twice with the sport design package:
1. Dunlop instead of Michelins
2. 19” wheel with limited choice of tires. Why couldn’t they do a 20” wheel?

Yes. 19” wheels are a somewhat odd size for this vehicle - it really limits tire options. The first thing I did - replace the 19s with 18s and Michelin LTX tires. More replacement tire options with the 18s and less expensive than the 19” tire options too. Best.

Yes ... Toyota / Lexus purchases millions of 265/ tires from Dunlop and installs on their body-on-frame vehicles. Absolute garbage tires with the worst tracking and steering response I have ever experienced ... like riding on water balloons. Michelins are an exception on new car delivery if one is lucky. Michelin Defender's have superb tracking and steering response ... transforming.

Yes ... you should have negotiated 18" wheels ... the 19's are an anomaly ... why Lexus foisted this off-size on their customers is a complete mystery.

+1 on this. I did the same. You can get the 18” wheels fairly cheap, and when it is time to get a set of tires, the price difference in tires pays for the wheels already. Do not get the Bridgestone Duellers though, those are not much better than the Dunlops. Michelin LTX and Latitude are pretty good choices.

it is now that I realized the little options for this size tire. Just a handful of options for the 19”. 🤦🏽‍♂️

the problem with the 20s is the limited sidewall. I may need to “downgrade” to 18” when it comes time to change the tires.

Plus if on travel with 19" tires ... have a blowout and need a new tire ... good luck finding ANY 19" tire within 1,000 miles let alone the exact same tire. 18" tires are prolific. Yes you have a spare ... but ...

Interesting thought. I do indeed travel long in the middle of nowhere.

my only pain would be the wheels. I do like the design of the 19”s.

I’m thinking, wait until I need new tires. Swap the 19” for premium trim 18”s.

Nothing worse than to be forced to stay in "Motel Hell" in the middle of nowhere given a blowout or irreparable sidewall damage waiting for a 19" tire being 2-3 day shipped.

If you are one of those who only run Michelin LTX on their trucks, you do not care. But the price of the 19” tires are crazy.

By the time you need to put on new tires, there is a good chance more tire choices would be available. Tire manufacturers do catch up. When the 19” wheels first came out, there were no Michelin LTX available for the wheels.

But why !#! ... who cares about 18" vs 19" ... may as well go 20" ... sorry, but this was a play to force OEM tires (Dunlop) at least in the immediate timeframe. So what happens while manufactucturers "catch up" but one is in Bum-Fu#k USA and has a blowout or an irreparable sidewall flat ... gee, you get to wait for shipment from wherever given 19" tires are not in stock ... 2-3 days expedite while your vacation is ruined or you are late for a critical event. Why ? 19" over 18" has absolutely no advantage. If it's all about "bling" then go 20" ...

I'm not disagreeing that 19" is not widely used but the GX 460 not the only one using 265/55R19, here is a list of 39 other manufacturers and models that install them as OEM https://www.wheel-size.com/tire/iso-metric-265-55-R-19/

I had Dunlops on my 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime from the factory and they were noisy and were pretty crummy with road manners.
