I live in LA and bought a 2014 CPO back in December 2015 (Dates corrected). I did consider buying new as well, but ultimately went CPO. I don't know what prices are like now, but I will say it took 6+ months for me to find a decent price and somewhat of a color/options that I wanted.

In short, I thought dealers would be much more motivated than they were...I was actually really surprised at how many dealers just let me walk off the lot! It seemed as if most dealers were not interested in negotiating at all. From what I gathered, they didn't negotiate but would drop prices every few weeks. I came close to buying from the dealership in Newport Beach...but instead, I worked out a deal with Lexus of Pleasanton (Bay Area), bought a plane ticket, flew up and drove it back home. Saved about $1,600 from the 2nd best deal around....

If the dealers you went to were AutoNation dealers, that is their new policy since March this year for used vehicles and CPOs. No negotiation at all. They have a region guy who is supposed to watch the market and he controls the pricing. The GMs at the dealership can't even override him. The GMs are none to pleased, and it sucks for us as customers. I will now avoid all AutoNation dealers based on this policy alone. Two AutoNation dealers lost out in CPO sales to me for my GSF last month due to this policy. Both had the cars sit for an additional month and ultimately sold for below what I was asking for when I saw the vehicles. I ended up buying new from a non AutoNation dealer as it was a better deal than the overpriced CPOs.

Dealer in Sacramento area wanted $53k for a 2015 CPO/Lux.... I got him to $49k. It was end of month/quarter.

Another dealer in the same town, offered $500 off a similar model -as his very best offer... Guess where I went...

My dates were wrong, it was actually a 2014 CPO that I bought in 12/2015...but same issues as stated. Correct in the Autonation no longer haggles (for any brand). That being said, it felt like even the Lexus dealerships that I went to (6-7 of them in the So Cal area) were also not willing to negotiate much, if any at all. Like any other business transaction though, do your homework and be patient!

The minute a vehicles is CPOed the haggling gets harder....Sir its got an unlimited mile warranty, on an essentially the most dependable vehicle mfg in the world...Sir Its a hot seller (this isnt a lie since SUVs are moving nowdays)....Sir its been refurbished to new standards and gone through a 188000000 point inspection..

At the end of the day you are buying a used car form a used car dealership. Do your research, compare prices and also how much warranty you actually have vs the price and benefits the CPO brings with it.

There are also unadvertised Lexus/Dealer rebates; but you can see these on edmunds (Screenshot below; and the link: https://www.edmunds.com/lexus/gx-460/2017/deals/ ); my local dealer told me they can be combined when I was looking at RXs this weekend. There are more if you are military, affected by Takata airbag recall as current Lexus owner, or currently on lease for a Lexus, or recent college grad; but you should ask for at least $8500 off...

Looking for an '18 white pearl, black interior sport package. Anyone have suggestions on where I can get the best deal. I don't mind paying a transport fee if someone gives me a deal I can't refuse.

Try Dolan in Reno. As of a month ago they had several white premium ‘18s in inventory. Dolan welcomes out of state sales and has a most responsive internet sales team. Virtually no white around here (Seattle area, month ago) where the dominant color for dealer flooring is black, w/black interior. So, perma-dark and damp weather, funeral black GX inventory. Go figure.
