Disc changer or single disc?
#2
It is always single disc now, not much people use CD now days
But I think some model still can have 6-disc if no navigation
(Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't use a CD since my first Lexus LOL... although always have the ML option)

@omr, that's a good question actually. However, it is a question to which I do not have the answer to. I know pre-refresh (2010-2013) mark levinson's have a 6 disc changer.
@Valley101, I agree. XM does not do the ML system justice. As old school as it is, CD's seem to be the way to get the best sound quality out of it.

nothing can get close to a CD sound quality.
if you can get an FM broadcast in HD, that's far better than your Sirius/XM broadcast.
the ML package is a above average, but not great.
I normally upgrade my speakers, amplifier, add some subwoofer etc.
so I notice the difference right away.
the JBL that came with our 2011 Toyota Prius sounds better than the ML on the RX 350.. no kidding.
and we compared the JBL on a Rav4 versus the ML on the RX 350 using the same source ( CD) and the result was the same.
I think it's the placement of the speakers at the back and the open space on the RX/GX, that is the culprit.
the best set up is one that will sound "clean" where you can hear everything distinctively even on low volume.

While "CD quality" is in-theory better than the alternatives ... when the human ear cannot tell the difference between a CD "original" and 320 kbps compression in a quiet environment, 256 kbps is probably about as good as it gets in a vehicle from a real world "sound quality" standpoint ... unless the thought of "CD quality" just makes you feel better.

Not a lot of DVD-A content out there. Picked up a cheap/used Eagles/Hotel CA DVD-A album as a test.
