Default Help headlight swap 2012-2015

Hello all,
I have embarked in a journey to do the front end swap.
Are the headlights plug and play or do I have to do some wiring.
I haven't disassembled my 2012 yet but as I look for pictures for reference, comparing to the 2015 I have 3 plugs that I do not see on the 2012 headlight pictures.
Any help would be appreciated
Regards

the wiring is not the same.
prior models have HID or halogen plug. The plug for the led headlights are different.
Newer models also have DRL led light. You will have to create additional wiring and run it from fuse box.
The plugs for Sidemarker Light Bulb and high beam should be same.

I know there was a thread on this in 2013 or 14. Someone in russia did it.

You should of just bot a new one. Its not cost effective to do the conversion imho, but good luck.

Sounds like you just wasted a lot of money.

thanks for the replies.
i cant just buy the new one since mine is 2012 i purchased for 57k dollars used!
the 2014 and 2015 in my country are priced 90k and 105k respectively.
so id rather spend 6000 tops on doing this mod and take the hassle than spending 33k and 48k more respectively . i live in the dominican republic

did you get the additional body panels needed as well? The two headlights are different shapes it seems.

I don't think wiring would be too bad, when it all boils down, they're both 12v systems.

i just purchased for now the headlights and fog lights since i got them at good price i could not pass up on the offer.
unfortunately since i live outside the united states, i had to jump on the offer. the reason i have jumped to it its because i have seen in 2 dealerships (2) gx460 2010 -2012 with the front and back swap. i did not see the wiring as the vehicles are for sale but i saw that it worked as in DRL come on as soon as you start the vehicle if you turn the lights they dim(drl) since it was day i couldnt appreciate well if the AFS worked but the light on the dashboard of the AFS was not showing so i assume they are working.
the bumper cover and internals that go with it, its not a problem for me to aquire, the headlights and foglights were.
so my theory was if someone else could do it i can too.
please keep in mind that in my country were talking about 30k and almost 50k more for the newer model in United States were talking maybe 10k difference? so were talking basically if i have purchased the gx new one here i could buy 2 brand new in the united states.
attached is an image of the 2010 model that i saw working and attached is a brand new one showing the price. again this is why id rather spend 6k more and get the look.
regards,
Marco

I like the 2014+ look way better than pre-face lift. Actually, I wouldn't put my money down for any 2010 -2013 GX @ any price just because of that look. I totally understand why you like the 2014+ look also.

However, why wouldn't you just get the 2010 with 2014 look in the picture? As many said earlier, it is not easy to change the face at all. None in North America has done that with success.

Also, for the 2010 with new face in the pictures, it is really hard to tell that it is a dealer mis-lable, or real work done there. But, I can tell you that the parking sensor looks from the old 2010, or from the aftermarket.

How about to contact the dealer to get more info about the swap? Maybe pay them to do the work if you think they really did it to the 2010.

I was living in a nation that 2010 GX460 was selling @ US$ 200K when new, today the cheapest used 2010 still asking more than US$ 100K. I know your feeling.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply.
I got inside the 2010 with facelift and i can assure you it is a 2010 Model.
The lexus enform and display is a give away.
From this dealer i purchased my 2012. My thing was the 2010 model had 82k miles and has 6 months that the vehicle has been imported from usa.
My vehicle didnt even have 1 whole month of being imported with 30k miles. Still smells like new.
They also had a black gx with the sport design package. This one had 78k miles and was really mint but id rather have a "less used" vehicle because the price was basically the same.
I know of a person that did a 2009 -2015 lx conversion. He pulled it nicely. The headlights he purchased did not have the afs motor and so he has afs light one, so because of him is how i convinced myself "maybe i can pull it off". I got a contact from him that helped with the headlight adaptation and talked to this person this morning. We will meet monday at my facility.
I am looking if anyone has had experiences like this before.
Do a search in google : guzman customs - facebook. in this page scroll down you will see this shop did the swap with a white gx 2011-2015 detailing that afs is working etc etc
