A/C blowing hot air...
First warm week of the year now my 2014 is blowing hot air!
I played with all the appropriate buttons and *****. Air on, air off, tried voice commands and no luck. From what I have read is could be the pressure switch or the compressor. The compressor is definitely not engaging and at 17,500 miles I would think there was still freon in it. I have not done a system diagnosis yet..not sure how. Anyone else have this issue? I prefer the DIY challenge for changing the switch than taking it to the dealer.

Bummer, that sux Kitana. Keep us posted with your findings. I haven't seen any problems with the compressor here.
With your question on how to do a system diagnosis. I hope my Carista app comes in handy if I have a similar problem. Since I typed "Carista" I think they may chime in. There are other brands of diagnostic tools that you can plug into your computer to read codes as well.

Thanks tecman. I could always run up to Auto Zone and see if someone will do it. I'm shocked by this and worry several other issues will follow. I don't trust dealership service centers and like to avoid them if I can.

Are you not under factory warranty? I would let them handle it.

Agreed.
You trust the dude at Autozone over a Toyota or Lexus service professional?

Jacket if it's just for the switch I would. I hate bring my vehicles to the dealer. More than half the time they have caused more issues than to begin with. Yes it is covered. I will bring it in Monday an hope they don't try to fix stuff that is not broken.
My Highlander had a blown fuse ($25) and the service department was going on about $3,000 in repairs not needed. Don't get me started on what they did to my F-350 when all I needed was a tie rod.
If anything I'll get all the soda and ice cream I want while I wait for the good news.

Suffer through the dealer upselling, just say no.

What do they put you in?
Glad to hear they diagnosed it.

I was able to get an RX but it feels so small and I don't like the way the controls are set up. I shouldn't complain, I have gotten some pretty bad rentals before. On the bright side I can now practice sport mode shifting and J turns till I get my GX back.
