@Romanova excellent update on your ride. I might also suggest a quart worth of Power steering extraction and refills with a drive between each one, if you already haven't done a PS service. At 129k it's likely due, especially residing in Texas here.
Looking forward to hearing how the road trip went!

Just picked up my wife’s GX460. She got rear ended 3 weeks ago. Ours is a 2021 4 months old with 3,417 miles on it. Now the whole back end has been replaced all because the other person was on their flipping cell phone

Catch up. Picked up the truck 2 weeks ago, my FJ is still around but probably going to sell, just not practical with kids anymore. Last week changed clear tails to standard red from 2010-2013 and today pulled off the chrome door handles, painted and put back on. Also started vinyl wrap on the chrome window trim. Pretty easy with some plastic pry tools, a heat gun and some patience. Slowly getting rid of some chrome. While I was waiting for the paint to dry I painted the front rusty calipers, installed auto-folding mirror ECU dongle from aliexpress and greased the drive shaft at all the fitting sites- pretty sure this had never been done as they looked bone dry and took between 7-10 pumps to see any new grease come out of the fittings. Vehicle had been serviced at Lexus exclusively and was even Certified a few years ago. Crazy they never do this at a lot of dealerships.
Also, one of my chrome door handles has a gouge in it. Anyone know if they sell just the trim pieces?
Finally, the original dealer chromed my rims. Same rim you have. Man, do I wish they hadn't! The factory color looks great.

Drove 995 from Texas to Florida and the GX was perfect for my family of 4 and all of our stuff. Rolled over 130k on the trip there. With the cruise set at 76-78mph most of the time, the gas mileage was between 19-20mpg. Did the drive there straight through and did it straight through on the way back, only stopping for gas and bathroom breaks. GX460 did it all in stride.
It's funny though, I see GX460s every day in Houston, yet on the trip there, I only saw on 460 on the highway and one 470. Didn't see a single one in Orlando. On the drive back, also didn't see a single one.

Finally got a bit of spare time to blacken out rear chrome. Next wind deflector, sliders, onboard air, then???

Did an oil change and collected a sample for Blackstone Labs. Always been curious to try their service, so I ordered a kit for all three of my cars. Will report back when I get the results back.

@Romanova Notice this too each time we go anywhere... In DFW GX's are a dime a dozen (At least around where we live just west of DFW airport).. on the road we're lucky to see one or two on a roadtrip to the northeast

Ordered some Desert Does It front seat risers. (My wife has complained occasionally since we got our GX of a flat seating position (despite trying the maximum adjustments))

This isn't something I was planning to purchase ( the front seats are comfortable enough for me) but I was thinking if I can make my pregnant wife even a smidge more comfortable driving from TX to VA when we move next month, then it's money well spent in my eyes...
I'm not going to tell her I installed them and see if she notices...

That is a good film. I have used that on my windshield before, do the whole thing and it keeps the inside a lot more comfortable. You can get an optician to grant a waiver to the VA tint laws btw.
