BeatSonic IF-04EP Smartphone Mirror Kit Install
Since I was going to install the Nav/DVD in-motion override anyway I figured why not pay the small upgrade cost and try out this Smartphone Mirror kit from BeatSonic. Just got it installed today and took a quick test drive around the block to make sure it was working ok. Overall I am very satisfied with the kit. BeatSonic did a great job making the entire kit fully plug & play. No cutting or splicing of wires needed and it can be removed easily in case I have a future electronics issue and need to take it in for service under warranty.
Someone with prior experience removing the console could realistically do this install in 15 minutes. Took me about 40 because it was the first time I took everything apart and I took some extra time to add a nice finishing detail with the charging cord. I think it's a great addition to the truck but anyone expecting the full Apple CarPlay experience will be disappointed. The one review on the BeatSonic site pointed out that this is not a full HD porting; so it is not a crystal clear picture but that is a limitation of the Lexus system. For my needs I think it will be fine: Utilize Waze or Google maps and avoid Lexus map updates and play videos on the main screen for my nephew from time to time.
I'll update again in after I've had a chance to use the system a bit but for now enjoy the pics and I'm interested in what you guys think of my mod to the install....
Prior to un-boxing. You will need extra cables but BeatSonic is clear about that on the website. For iOS a lightning cable extender; A/V adapter; and spare USB to lightning cable.
Wired up prior to taking to the truck.
System removed. Plenty of other threads with pics getting to this point (plus BeatSonic sends instructions).
This one connection they recommend foam taping (included with kit).

Cable slides in and out easily for charging/mirroring. Alternate would be to buy a 6' cable and route through the center armrest console but I am hoping to get a console vault at some point once I can confirm fitment.

This will mirror Waze full size on the Nav screen with an iPhone? Works on 2010-2013?
