Emergency Fuel Filler Door Release

I figured there was one there but never looked. I can't say I remember someone saying this failed but you never know with more years of wear and tear.

You just pull that white lever down. You can't visually see through the access hole but hopefully the pics are guide to show you location.

As an aside, I would've thought your compartment would be crammed with spare oil, gloves, test equipment, ice scraper and the like. I know mine is!

Superior information! Mine rubs after popping open and fully open it by hand- too tight and riveted on so-- hope it never fails but if it does this is priceless
