Hewitt-Tech bypass kits - Next Gen version
Many of us have seen this kit that works with '10-'14 models. I guess '15+ are not available yet.

Then there is this kit that also allows you remove the air pump completely

Again '10-'14 only.
I see they now are now coming to market with a next gen bypass kit. Looks like it may be easier to install too.

"Our next Generation Bypass Kits will be released in early 2019 engine by engine. These units will allow you to clear all of your SAIS codes, no kit add-ons needed.
Beginning with the 2013 and newer 4.0L engine vehicles and then the 4.6L and 5.7L as well as the Flex Fuel Vehicles.
Building a custom off road only or show vehicle and need room under the hood, this is the kit for you! The next kits will allow you to remove every component of the SAIS if the Pressure Sensor Option is selected.
Without the added Pressure Sensor Option One factory air switching valve with a non-damaged Pressure Sensor must remain.
Units bolt in place of the factory Air Injection Control Drivers and take over their operation. No need to worry about triggering the units or connecting to the starter relay, this is a COMPLETELY New Design!
Have a 2013 or newer vehicle and interested in Beta Testing a unit? Slots are open, Contact us with your vehicle information for details."

This is great news. I'm all for an easier to install unit If they release it as they said, it would put a lot of happy faces to the dreaded issue.

Hmm, got me thinking, If I recall this pump is wasted space with my bypass so I should be able to remove it. I no longer have a spare tire with my duel exhaust setup so I strapped an air compressor in the spare location. I could remove the pump and install the compressor there, Yes?

You will want to confirm with Hewitt Tech but I think you need to add on the Pump Proxy Pack to remove the pump entirely if you have first link installed versus the second one which comes with the PPP

Many threads and post with this so lost track of what I did. I know I disconnected the pump to get out of limp mode. It is now plugged in.
I will be in test mode tomorrow. I pulled the connector tonight (never started the truck today until the unplug) I started the truck and let it run for awhile with no problems. This may require some driving time and I have at least 30 miles on my schedule for tomorrow.

Got codes right at start up, not sure why I didn't get it yesterday. Whats up with the ABS and Power steering? Connected the pump and cleared the codes. I scanned again when I got home and no codes.

Thanks for testing. Are you still thinking of getting the PPP add-on?

Nah, I just thought it would be nice to have the compressor there but no big deal.

Have you checked out these trays? They allow you to mount an ARB compressor just behind the fuse block in the engine bay.

Or this one for a ARB Dual air compressor The GX is at the bottom of the page)

I need to pull mine out and see if it even works. It has been strapped under my truck in a bag where the spare was for 4-5 years and I never needed it. Maybe it is mountable some where under the hood but I don't even recall what model I bought.
