Thanks for those pics. Ive seen the one of the box gooped up with FIPG, but not the ones of the inside.
My KDSS light is on with a pressure sensor code. I'll pop open the box and see what it looks like inside.

Here is a cool review and explanation of how KDSS really works. Always kind of a mystery to me until I read this!

Default KDSS Leak from the Hydraulic fill port on the adjustment housing, Cap was almost off

After returning home from a rather windy driving trip through the mountains I noticed a drip coming from the KDSS adjustment area (under the car, located just below where the driver would sit. There is a cap with a big H on it, this cap was tilted upwards almost going to pop off, at below this you will see a drip coming from under the cap. I realigned the cap and had tightened it, the leak stopped.

The next day I take it out for a spin and after a little driving the KDSS light came on as the system is now low on fluid. With the system low on fluid, the ride quality is noticeably worse as you really feel the swaying and bumps while driving WAY more than when it was full.

So yeah the cap came loose, odd as I have never touched this cap. BUT I did do some suspension work on the car about 2 months prior, I replaced the front right spring to fix the GX Lean so many of us are plagued with. Before replacing the spring I was down .75in on the passenger side, after spring replacement we are at .5in down passenger side.
After the KDSS leak, our GX is straight, no lean at all… Does this mean the KDSS just needed to be adjusted in the first place?

I only replaced the spring per my local Lexus dealership and the TSB regarding the replacement would be necessary.

Can this fluid be replaced WITHOUT going to the dealer, My local Lexus dealer is booked out over 1 month due to COVID?
I do have a TechStream software/ dongle that may be required to service this system, maybe not as it just needs to be filled. The light only comes on after driving for some time after the car leans too much.

Here is another area you should drop cover and check on. A lot of corrosion in this area can occur as seen in the Russian pics earlier. I had this KDSS cover off before and it had dirt in there. After about one year (since skid plate install) lots of sand and gravel had accumulated in mine. I don't take in water or mud so this is whatever is kicked up. I'd suggest try washing out as good as you can... then pull cover off and see how much is left. Just two 12mm bolts and it falls right down..or just drop it and clean out.

My rig is dirty right now and some mud spray from forest roads. KDSS accumulator had quite a bit of sand on it as well. It can look clean under there and still house this debris.

Looks like a company in Poland that rebuild them

Did you ever figure out why it was leaking out the fill port?

From what I gathered online, leaking occurs when the pressure is to HIGH or too LOW. After it went in for the 60k suspension fluid flush it dripped a little bit and now a couple of weeks later the very slow drips stopped altogether.
Now I did have Lexus take the car back once they gave it back and it was dripping, they drove a loaner to my house and took the car. After looking it over they said what I was seeing was an overflow leak that was coming from the above reservoir above the port. This being a sealed system, I don't think you have an overflow catch container so I call their BS on that.

Only time will tell, I live in the Pittsburgh area and the truck has a little bit of corrosion on the underside, for the most part just on the weld seams, I'm going to hit it up with some corrosion-inhibiting spray-on film product.
I read somewhere that the KDSS system is pretty much problem-free if you live in rust-free southwest but in the northeast, it can be a problem.

If it leaks again to the point where the KDSS light comes on again, I will have an independent shop see if they can resolve the filler port issue or swap out that whole KDSS unit that has the filler port attached. I feel Lexus would like to replace the entire KDSS system and I think that is over 5k in parts as they do.not want to just fix the issue they want the billable hours.

Is yours leaking at the port as well?

Acrad, thanks for posting this. If mine starts to leak again I will see about having this o-ring looked at and replaced.

I took mine apart this weekend and found that the o-ring on the back of the actual valve that is in the fill port had partially failed, part of it was still stuck in the valve holding it open. Needless to say it would not hold any pressure like that. Bought a new valve and a valve stem puller at Napa, replaced it, pumped up the system, bled all the lines at the front and rear and its now working great. All in with the pump, fluid, parts ~$150. System is stupid simple.

How much extra fluid did you need to bleed it?

FSM says a little over 6 quarts are needed of the AHC fluid.

Exclamation KDSS Light in Dashboard

Hi Guys. i am new user of GX460 2010 in this forum from Qatar. My vehicle showing KDSS light so i was searching on it and found this forum which is looking very helpful. i read many discussion and still i have some question regarding KDSS as below.
I recently purchased GX 460 2010 in Qatar with 122k Km millage. Yesterday morning when i start from my home to office, the KDSS light on in dash but after driving around 10 km it's automatically gone. Then i reached office after 30 km drive. In evening went to home no light again. and went for a 50 km drive at night and no KDSS light again. But, today morning when i start my vehicle and leave for office again KDSS light on. After five KM drove i stop the vehicle, switch off engine and start again and then no light was there.
Do you anyone face the same? and found any issue? any repair required? Thanks in advance.
