fluid film will prevent it from rusting (further or at all if it hasn't started) it will not reverse existing rust.

Thanks for the reply guys. Looks like I'll have to replace the struts since the mounting points on the body (and glass) are rusting quite bad.

Have the same issue here too! Really annoying. If you find part numbers, please share with us.

i wonder if lexus would cover this under their corrosion warranty up to 72 months.

I tried both the CPO and corrosion warranty angle to no avail.
Hopefully you have better luck .

Default 2016 GX Rear Window Piston Hardware Rusting

Cheers - I just bought a 2016 GX460 and noticed that the rear window piston hardware and window hardware is rusting. Has anyone experienced this? I am still in the factory warranty period. I wonder if it should be covered. See images. I appreciate any feedback.

I have similar rust like in your first photo. I just spray FF and that seems working, ie. it is not getting worse.

Very common issue on the GX. Look underneath the car and you will see more surface rust around the frame. I used Por-15 and it helped alot

Depending on the in service date of your GX a 16' could be out of 4/50 warranty so you may want to call and check with your local service department. If it's a CPO car then it will have different coverage.

get a plastic brush (old tooth brush would probably work) and brush the areas, coat it with a light oil, grease or rust sealant.....
Sheeesh, don't you guys work on cars anymore?

Nah, my driver or personal assistant usually takes care of this type of simple task.

Okay starting now my new years resolution is to stop being sarcastic with a post or reply's.... So that was pretty much 8 or so min. ago and I am going to have to back out of that now.

Thanks for your understanding.

The barn door piston mounting points on the bottom have a tendency to rust as well.. good idea to put some ff here too if you're putting some on the glass piston mounting points.
