Default Best wind fairing for oem crossbar

Hi I just got my 2013 gx460 base model last week. I have been trying to fix the annoying wind noise issue sine I bought it 2 weeks ago. I am hoping to solve the noise problem with a wind fairing over my oem crossbars. Can my fellow Lexusians recommend a wind faring
which works well with a 2013 gx460? Yakima, Rhino, thules or inno?

thanks!
keith

I’m not sure how you would mount the fairing to the stock bar. I would move the bars back a bit to see if it helps.
You can also try to wrap it with some foams too.

I tried moving the crossbars with no success. I am looking at this universal wind fairing from inno products. INNO INA271 Medium Universal Mount (Fits Rounds, Square, Aero and Most Factory Bars) Fairing for Mid-Size Cars and SUV's - 40-Inch (Carbon Fiber Print)
Amazon Amazon

Will these work?

What I can tell you for absolute certainly is that the bars must be in the exact location that the manual says. It has been a few years since I owned a GX 460 but mine came with the cross bars in the wrong location and they roared and whistled terribly. READ YOUR MANUAL if you have one it tells you where they go in inches and Lexus does know what it it talking about in this case.

The way I read the installation manual is not to push the back bar closer than 14” to the end of the rail and the front bar not to be close than 8.5” to the front of the rail. I don’t seem to find in the manual indicating the optimal position to reduce wind noise.

I think I only ran mine like a week or two without crossbars after I got mine a few years back so can't remember what difference it made in sound.

Is it normal to hear wind noise for the gx460? I took out my crossbars and I still heard it. It is like a flag flapping in the wind. When I test drive a 2014, I don’t remember hearing that. I taped the sunroof and it is still making the noise. It seems to be coming from the top of the roof of the vehicle.

i think I have finally found the problem with the wind noise. The seal on passenger side of the windshield deteriorated. I have attached a picture of the rot.

Also, on the corner piece and the bottom plastic piece on the passenger side is loose but in place. Are they supposed to be tight? Do I need to glue them with urethane seal?

If you need to pick up more of those light blue clips here is PN

[Windshield Molding Clips]
PN: 75545-53011

I need to add that windshield molding to the OEM parts list.

Wanted to give you guys an update on the wind noise issue that I was having. I finally replaced the passenger side windshield moulding. It eliminated the wind noise I was experiencing.
