Default 2010 GX460 Timing belt or chain?

I am not sure if the 2010 GX460 has a timing belt or chain, can anyone confirm either? Thank you!

Chain!

One of the reasons I ponied up more money to get a 460 over a 470

I was happy it had a chain as well. When I was looking at 470's originally... I noticed a lot of people would put them up for sale just before that service or didn't know it had been done. I think the only thing with a belt these days are some Honda V6s.

Happy about the chain but not to happy about the problems I have read here with the water pump. Usually these two are replaced if one of them goes out because the labor cost is high.

I bet you could get a small shop to repair for less than 1/2 what mine would have cost at dealer without the warranty.

I keep thinking about having it done as preventive maintenance. I thought about changing the spark plugs myself but glancing at them I don't know that I want to deal with it. I am at 105k and don't mind renting a truck for a few days to get my GX ready for another 105k using my local shop.

I need to pull the coil packs off of mine before factory warranty expires next May to see if I have that potential spark plug tub gasket failure.

Yes the GX460 has a chain.

For my 2008 GX470. I took it to the dealer at 100K miles for major open heart surgery. New Radiator, Timing belt, accessory belts and tensioner, water pump and thermostat. All routine maintenance except for the leaky radiator. Price was fair (1800?) and I got to drive a new RX for 2 days when this was going on.

I expect another 150k on the 2008 GX.

Lightbulb Timing chain or belt in 460?

Does the 2019 GX 460 have a timing chain or rubber belt. If Rubber belt, how often should it be changed?

From 2010 and up is chain so you’re good for a long while.
