Default Interesting accessory finding - OT+

Maybe this isn’t news to anyone else, but just found out yesterday that you cannot add a tonneau cover to the OT+ (I presume also OT) models because the slots to install the cover are plugged.

Went to the dealer for my 30 day and mentioned that I did not receive my rollable cargo cover and wanted one either given or to purchase. Both my salesman and the parts person seemed puzzled that I didn’t receive it and came out to review my build paperwork. We all discovered it’s not offered on the OT.

In fact, when going to the cargo area I discovered the holes are plugged. Coming from the 460, I never even considered to look. I saw the molded hooks near the end of the cargo area and never looked deeper.

You may be able to cut out the plugs as they are still outlined for where the cover would install, but that would require modification and then purchase of an aftermarket or oem (+ $1000) cover.

Not a deal breaker, but an interesting design choice for sure. Checked with a buddy of mine and his OT+ is the same. I understand the thought process, packing the rear with the accessories like rollable coolers, overland shelving, etc would not allow for the use of a rollable cover, but with all that gear you would think some might still want some way to cover it.

Anyway, thought I’d inform others who may not have received theirs yet.

You might want to have your sales person check again. My OT+ build sheet has a Tonneau Cover as a FIO.

The OT+ I saw on display at a local dealer had a tonneau cover as well.

And here is pics of one installed on an OT+ so something is up with either your build or your salesperson. Maybe they are just popout cover plugs?

Interesting, when does yours arrive? Will be curious to see if it actually does come installed? Currently, the part number for the cover only has the applicable models listed as premium and luxury trims, no OT. That’s in the Lexus system, wonder if it may change.

Yea did some investigation and my buddy who also has an OT+ has the same situation. Did not come with one and has the plugs, he was also told the same thing at a different dealer. Wonder if those pre production or display only models had a different config to show off all of the features. Or some were just built without, curious if others received with their OT+ models.

Adding a pic of what it looks like, pushed on the plugs pretty hard but they seem quite fixed.

You should be able to insert a small flat head screwdriver and pop out the tabs. Look closer at the bottom of the plug and you'll see a slit (cutout).

Appreciate you sharing the knowledge! I did not even see that tiny slit, using a small flathead it does in fact pop out! The unfortunate part is I’ll likely have to purchase one, but good to have the option.

Look at Page 43, lower right. There's your answer.

Appreciate you sharing! I’ll head to the dealer when I get some time to discuss with them.

Replying to this a little late with the build sheet for our Overtrail+, which should be here in a month or two. It shows a factory-installed tonneau cover.
