Ah, I forgot to mention what TX is. I forget many owners of higher end Lexus models have very busy lives LOL (JK).
This is TX.
2024 TX 550h+ and 2025 ES500h+?
Yes they are closely related, but I'd say it's vice versa. Allegedly the Lexus went into planning first just as RX-L came out, but Grand Highlander joined when it was obvious a larger CUV was needed in Toyota showrooms as well above the Highlander as an alternative to the Sequoia.
Grand Highlander was designated the Project Code 200D and TX became Project 220D. Similarly 700B was the Land Cruiser 300 and 720B was the Lexus LX J310 during development. See a pattern?
I think 2024 GX is the project code 930D.
I'd be interested in a TX with a PHEV system so I'll keep my eye out. It'll be a tough decision to sell my GX but it's further down the road so I have time to think about it.
I’m contemplating between getting an older GX, something like 2018 and riding it for few years or wait for 2024 version.
I will need to get one sometime this year, so not sure if I’d be able to get 2024 by December. at that point, I dont want to get ’22 or ’23 model and regret if I really love ’24 version.
The anticipation here is that the ’24 model won’t be available to purchase this year, right?
By no means an expert like the others here, but I'd bite the bullet and get a current gen. The reviews on platform for the latest gen of trucks (LX600, Sequoia, Tundra) have been relatively poor. Not saying this will hold true for the next gen GX, 4Runner and Tacoma, but I'd put your money on the current gen and assume the value will hold. My family almost traded in an LX570 for a 2nd gen NX (for a short break from a large SUV) and I'm glad they didn't. The LX570 resale seems to be holding steady with the LX600 out... and the general consensus is the LX600 is a disappointment.
Buy a 2018 and just wait it out. That's what we're doing with our last gen LX, and current gen GX and Tacoma.

I was in a similiar position to you a few weeks ago. I closed on a white '23 GX with Sport Package with Premium Plus and Captain's chairs for 8% below MSRP in Socal.
We were considering waiting for the new GX, but really miss the reliability, durability and simplicity of the V8 with 6-speed. We tend to keep cars 10+ years so reliability has been number 1 for my family. So far, we are beyond happy with the GX and expect to keep her in the family for over a decade.
However, my 2013 GS is getting long in the tooth. Perhaps when its time, we will pick up a 2nd GX in 2025/2026 with the new turbo. By that time the 3.5L engine has been around since 2018 and perhaps it will be more reliable. Wife and I had 2 GS 350s so its typical for our family.
If you're not worried about the latest tech and can stomach the gas mileage and place reliability at the top, then the 2023 is a good buy. Most folks will cycle thru 2-3 cars by the time my '23 GX is done. Goal here is to maximize time without car payments.
When do you guys think reveal will be? A vehicle that's essentially the downmarket, pickup version of the current J150 (sans V8 of course), I have also been studying what Toyota is up to. I mistakenly mistook the intel from a Toyota gal back in February, to mean full early April reveal of the 2024 Tacoma. For the GX, I expected that Lexus was focused on first revealing the updated 2024 LC range, followed by their global LM minivan and the 2024 TX first. I'm wondering if this means a July 2023 reveal for the GX? TX might be revealed in early June, then GX sometime later in the summer? Quite shocking how no spy photos have been allowed, even for last minute test rounds.
No renderings are even out there from Japan, which to me is quite shocking.

This is the international Prado in some form. Not exact yet, but a general idea.
Bear in mind this is what they came up with for other models:
2018 LS in Spring 2016
April 2020 300-Series Rendering
August 2020 300-Series Rendering November 2019 310-Series Rendering
While they aren't perfect, the production vehicles look close enough. The American version is a bit more rugged looking, leaning more on things TRD than the Prado and has the roundish lighting units.

It will be on display in June, 6 months ahead of release.
Will the 3rd Gen still have the barn door or will it be like all the other SUVs? I like the barn door by the way.
If it will continue to be a rebadged Prado then I would expect so. The Prado, when configured for remote use, is equipped with dual fuel tanks. The second fuel tank is positioned where the spare resides on the GX, so the spare goes on the door. With a spare on the door, a swing door is typically what is used. I don't see Toyota making a special rear door just for the GX, but they may make it for all Prados not equipped with dual fuel tanks. I've seen Landcruisers with split side opening rear doors (to mount a spare or two, commercial/industrial/remote use) compared to the typical half lift-up rear as we know them in the US.
With that info, I wouldn't be surprised if the next Prado follows suit.
Perhaps Toyota is listening to feed back on the new 300 and have a split rear door in the works for a more utilitarian version if enough demand (like the 105 using solid front axles and being the more robust version of the 100 series, which many Australian LC demanded back in the day). At least Toyota still offers the 70series (Australia etc).
