Default Cold Weather Package Question GX550 Overtrail+

I noticed on the order guide that the Overtrail has the windshield wiper de-icer and headlamp washers, but I don't see the fast response interior heater. Does anyone know more details and if it is included in the Overtrail or Overtrail+. I live in a very cold, snowy climate. I'd like all the cold weather package offers.

So the only way to get front massaging seats is to get Overtrail+??
I was expecting it to be on the Luxury too.

It is included in the Luxury, Luxury+, and Overtrail+ trims per the pdf on Lexus website.

I see it now. This is great. You can’t even get the front massaging seats on the flagship LX600.

Have you sat in a Lexus massaging seat? Do they really work or is it more of a gimmick? Comparing Luxury to Prem+, this is one of the main differences I was looking into.

I have no idea. But will definitely check out the GX550 Lux+ or Ovetrail+ when they hit the dealership after all the hype has calmed down.

If it’s anything like the Ls500, it’s definitely not a gimmick; you can actually feel the seats kneading you.

Have to admit, I'm incredibly disappointed that the 550 isn't coming to the Middle East. Went to the dealership here in Kuwait today and was told that the GX isn't planned to be sold here at any point in time. Hoping they change their minds. I was really stoked to trade in my 2017 for one when the option became available.

I dont know what the turning radius of this new one is, but I would not say that the GX460 is great compared to some other platforms. Additionally, larger tires will make up for the breakover. The GX550 is coming with nearly 33's and looks like it can relatively easily fit 35's(nevermind actually has the torque to turn them without being miserable) vs a 460 that has 30.5" tires and struggles with much more than a 33. While the hubs are 2.4" farther apart, the extra 2-2.5" of diameter in the tires are putting the tires touch points closer together and adding clearance, effectively negating the wheelbase difference.

Width you could argue a bit but I also think the GX550 has more of a coke bottle shape, vs the relative slab sides of a GX460 with no fender flare or anything. The GX550 tires and suspension sit out farther but I am not convinced its actually wider where it counts(like when you were trying to get around that boulder and the middle of your GX was at risk of hitting.) If you are really in a lot of those situations then there will probably be 50 companies offering rock sliders with kickouts within 30 minutes of the 550 hitting the lots.

I don't get why he is making it so confusing - Just say Toyota no longer currently sells a shorter wheelbase Land Cruiser. This guy normally gets stuff right, but he is in total lockdown about wheelbase as the final definition of what a car model is. I don't get why is he keeps saying the LC250 is the same as LC300 GR when clearly it isn't - just bc a car has the same wheelbase dosn't mean it is the same model. In Australia they will sell both the LC300 and the LC250 - called the Prado. When people walk into the show room they will see two different models that look different, have different interior trims, have different sizes - but yes they will have the same wheelbase.

Or when in NA we walk into the showroom and we see an LX600 and a GX550 - those are two different models, not different trims of the same model. Also if they are the same model, why are they not built on the same line? As I understand LC300LX600 is built by TAB in Yoshiwara and LC250/GX550 will be built Tahara.

Default Seats in Luxury+

I really like the idea of having a second row bench with the third row, but I really want some of the additional features in the Luxury+ trim. My reading of the production allocation doesn't quite jive with the Luxury+ order guide where it makes it seem like the Captain's Chairs are optional.

Three kids and captain's chairs is great for trips around town and some light road trips, but anything requiring gear and it's like Tetris back there.

Am I reading that order guide incorrectly? The sales guys at my dealership are of two minds on the subject.
