They can say all they want about the dead V8, people are gonna want them years down the road. People are buying out the last of the V8 GXs now.
GX460 was no dragster but it felt fine on the street, the V8 was smooth and refined. It was faster than 7.7 seconds 0-60.
I don't understand why they took all the luxury out of the interior... Actually I do, and I don't like it.
I have a 22 and agree for the most part. It will need time to see how the reliability will be. Lexus took the GX and made it more off-road focused, thus enabling the TX to fill the “void” now created. The drivetrain change is concerning in terms of reliability but I think the size growing is also a bit of a concern as my GX is perfectly sized for me at least.
Some people mention the MB G wagon. I don’t understand why people think this will be cross-shopped with the MB G wagon seeing as that in the USA starts at 140k; if you have that coin to drop you aren’t looking at the GX. The GX is aimed at the Discovery and in that regard LR will be ok seeing as that the majority of the cars are leased and are under a warranty.
Guess I'm an exception, but we'll be cross shopping the GX550 with Mercedes G550 once we are ready to move on from our 200 series Land Cruiser... though might wait a bit, just crossed the 20k mark on the LC. But, already test drove the G-wagon, just waiting on the GX550 Overtrail+ to hit the dealer showrooms.

Have not owned a Lexus in about 10 years but I'm about to come back. Gonna sell my 23 Bronco for a GX550 Overtrail. I have a question about trims tho.
Are there additional addons to the Overtrack+ vs just the stuff on the Lexus website? This stuff definitely doesn't seem worth the $8k cost unless there is something else.

Watching a driving impression video but it's the Luxury + with the 22 inch tires. I'm happy with my OT+ choice
I’ve seen a couple of reviews questioning why Lexus chose to use the 22’s on the Luxury. Although they look good, the consensus seems to be that they contribute a bit to a slightly harsher ride, and should never be taken off the road.
The gif shows the tire on that side climbing over an obstacle/rock, in which case that whole side of the vehicle is going UP into the air with the tire. Seems unlikely this would be a Lexus oversight. Hard to tell from pix and video but the rear pumpkin on our GX460 is the LAST thing we worry about offroad. The FRONT pumpkin is the problem... that's the lowest hanging part... so bottom line I wouldn't worry unless people report problems.
Looking closer it doesn't look like it drops lower than the muffler..possible a little bit lower than that trailing arm part of the suspension
Front pumpkin is usually well protected even wtih the factory skid plate on 460 while most leave the rear exposed. Lower shock mounts are probably most vulnerable on the rear
I do have a rear pumpkin skid from C4 but have never installed it.
