i'm looking for more pics of the sport package available on the 08's ... in particular, the "Smoked bezel headlamps and foglamps, Dark Graphite-finished roof rack, and Dark-tinted backup lens"

so cal doesn't get sport package GX's to this region so i can't go see it in person unfortunately.

also, for anyone that just purchased, how much over invoice did you pay? it looks like the GXs are pretty heavily discounted right now ...

What do you mean? The only way to get KDSS in California without doing special order, is to get sport packaged and Lexus Link (which is completely useless in California mountains and not reliable in general). Try to give a call to Longo Lexus, they used to have them on the floor when I was looking back in march. Or simply send email to all the dealers in the area (that's what I did).

When I got the car (I wanted KDSS, period), I was not to happy about aluminium feel dash board, but I am getting used to it (I still like dark wood on Lexus more). "Dark-tinted backup lens" is extremely helpfully on the sunny days. As far as outside look goes, it is hard to notice the difference anyway.

i was going to ask about the aluminum dashboard - is that real brushed aluminum or fake painted plastic (like in the RX)? the RX actually looks ok, but real brushed aluminum is so much classier (the Audi S-Line has real aluminum).

i don't know how i feel about the graphite roof rack, i like the color matched better, esp since i am leaning towards Salsa Red or Blue...

i wasn't able to locate any sport package GX's in the region, although one dealer says they can get one for me if i really want it from somewhere else.

it is fake
you can not get it in red or blue . Sport package is available only with Platinum (mostly) or Black (rare) exterior (at least in California).
If they can get it from somewhere else, then someone else has it, just call around more.

You can get a 08 GX with KDSS and no sport package so you dont have the plastic aluminium trims.

yes, but you have to wait 4 month to have it special ordered . There was no single GX with KDSS send to western region without sport package and without Lexus Link in 2008 (I was told that by 5 different dealers).

I waited nearly two months for mine. I have had 4 now (2003 - loved it - but the dealer hit it 2x, so they bought it back --> 2004 - LEMON, 2005 - it got beat up as a sales car and had 55,000 miles on in 22 months, 2008).

There is a great dealership in Omaha that got one and called me a couple of months ago as I was waiting for mine. If you special order it, it is well worth it!!
