I searched the forum but couldn't find anything. I have a 2011 premium and I just went out in the garage for something and happens to hear the compressor running. It turned off after about 10sec but I haven't driven the car for 8 hours. Does it level itself all the time even when not running? Do I have a leak or could it just be that it's now getting cold and was warmer today? Thanks.

"Noise from under vehicle after turning off the engine." It says, "Approximately five hours after the engine is turned off, you may hear sound coming from under the vehicle for several minutes. This is the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check and it does not indicate a malfunction."

Kitana is correct! I have owned numerous Toyota/Lexus vehicles and I have on occasion heard this noise when I would be out in the garage. A normal funtion!

Good news! I actually remember reading a thread about that now but I forgot. It didn't come to mind b/c I was sure it was the air compressor. All my searches involved "air compressor" or "air suspension" so the thread didn't come up. Thanks again!

One night a couple weeks ago I went into the garage and heard that noise. I immediately thought is was related to the back shocks and thought my husband abused my GX in some horrible way when he drove it earlier. Needless to say I was freaked out so I started it to see if any idiot lights came on then turned it off and the noise went away. I came inside to research online and found the thread about the evaporation check. Still so much to learn.

I had the same issue yesterday, when I was installing the tow hitch. I was under the rear of the car, and heard this weird noise, and since my model doesn't even have the air suspension, I had no idea what was happening. I was afraid that I had bumped or broken something...
