Sigh...my delivery date has been pushed back 2-3 weeks

Considering the volume of cars Toyota exports to the US, I imagine they use rail for long distance transport. Trucking a bunch of cars from CA to IL just doesn't seem cost effective.

I definitely want a tint....unfortunately it's illegal in Illinois (although there's a Bill in the State Senate that would repeal this restriction). I'm already risking things by not having a front license plate...

Cool! You are very patient; I cannot imagine having to wait 5 months to get the top of the line stereo in a luxury brand vehicle. Lexus & the regional distributers need to include a fully-loaded version of all their car models in the default line-up. It's illogical and frustrating. I, myself have been considering getting a loaded HS250h or RX450h; but, neither is available loaded (with ML audio, LED headlights, and tech pkg) unless special-ordered.
How does the ML audio system sound? Is it noticeably better than the stock HS audio system?

The ML system is phenomenal, truly the best car system I have owned (and I've had the premium stereos that Acura, BMW and Audi offer). While I didn't do a side-by-side comparison, the stock system while full and loud, is missing the the clarity and broad. "soundstage" the ML has. And DVDs are fun to listen to -especially ones like Star Wars or other similar blockbuster with cool surround sound effects. So, it was worth the wait! Just wish the iPod interface wasn't *so clunky... Wish Lexus would contract with Apple to design the infotainment interface!
