I don't understand your definition of a "pure hybrid". How is the hybrid LS, GS, RX fundamentally any different than the Prius or HS? They all use an internal combustion engine coupled with electric motor assist and regenerative braking.

This weekend I tried Power Mode for the first time. And the HS actually felt as fast as the 2010 IS250 AWD I had as a loaner a couple weeks ago. The IS will still beat it in a race, but from 0 to 30, I was really impressed.
I think the best way to put it, maybe "The Most Fuel Efficient Luxury Hybrid"?

To the OP, here is the first review I've seen of the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Might give you more insight in how the HS compares. Waiting for actual world comparison's tho.

Well I would consider the RXh to be sort of the best luxury hybrid at the moment.
Lets look at the facts:
The HS has 180 hp combined with an EPA rated combined mileage of 34.
the RXh has 290 hp combined with an EPA rated combined mileage of 30.
Plus the RX certainly has more interior room and just about every gadget the HS has except for LKA and driver attention monitor. So I think many would take the trade off of 4 less mpg for a much larger and power vehicle.

Well, the RX is just a truck :-)
And why stop there - the GSh is even bigger and faster than the RXh, oh wait the LSh is even bigger and faster than that.
I'd call the LSh the king of the hybrids - at least until the Fisker Karma comes out next year. Unless we limit it to dedicated hybrid models, then I'd say the HS probably is "king".

thats not what im saying. Not only is the RX larger, but you sacrifice 4mpg for 100 more horsepower. The GSh and LSh cannot even be compared because they get mid to low 20s.
the RX is best in terms of overall fuel efficiency and power.
