An engine block heater is standard on HSes (plural sp?) sold on the Canadian prairies, and an option in other regions. Here's the description of the block heater on the Lexus Canada website:
Block Heater $220.00 (Lexus Installed MSRP)
Custom designed for your Lexus providing 400 watts of heating power.
Provides easy cold weather starts reducing engine wear. Provides faster interior warm-up. Includes a 'strain relief' electrical cord.
Perhaps you can buy one from a Canadian dealer and get it installed locally.

Thanks for the info. Lucky Canadians. When I asked my dealer to quote me on an EBH, he said what do you want that for, cars nowadays don't need them. Some people just don't get it. Anyway, he said there is nothing available for the HS. That was 9 or 10 months ago, maybe they're available now. Obviously they are north of the border. Might have to make another call.

DWB stands for "driving without brakes". You don't literally drive without them but you drive like you don't have brakes. You coast up to red lights, stop signs, etc. rather than driving up to them then applying your brakes. Basically, you plan ahead much more.

i had my dealer bring the tires up to 38 today; you guys that are at 45 or higher psi, arent you worried that you are increasing your chances of a blowout?
when the tires are that hard, and you hit a sharp object, isn't the chance of a blowout much greater?
I've had 2 other hybrids, Prius and ford fusion, and always got at least the rated mpg without really pumping the tires way up..is this car any different?
I got almost 50 mpg today driving about 12 miles home from the gas station..

No, not worried about a blowout, I've never had any issues with high psi tires.
