spwolf) Couple of really nice looking cars there. I especially like the wagon, only because of it's greater versatility. Call me an old fuddy duddy but I'm happy w/ the design of the HS, especially since I have 2 SUV's ('02 RX300 & '06 ML 350) and a Chevy Astro van to fit things the HS cannot accept. Gonna sell my '98 Camry XLE, hate to see her go.

Paul58) Thanks for your viewpoint. Hopefully when we are ready to upgrade, a luxury vehicle w/ 80+ mpg will be available (I think this is a given within 6 yrs) and a decent price. I'm basing this upon implementation of sequential direct fuel injection, turbocharging, plugins, lithium ion batteries and so on. There may be a luxury electric vehicle by then too. Thanks again for your input.

OK guys (girls too), here is what I actually paid for the car. The sticker price was $42,077 which is a little cheaper than up in the mainland (u.s.) where Toyota/Lexus USA has a different manufacturer's list price. The dealer gave me the demo car for $32,665 plus I received the backup sensors ($575 value) free and $1200 of free gas. Add everything up and it totals $11,186 of cash discounts and credits. A fully loaded new 2011 hybrid Camry w/ navigation and rear sensors after discounts would have cost me more (thinking 5-6 hundred dollars). Also about the same as a new 2011 Prius V w/ similar options if I were to get $2k off which I believe is very hard to do here because of their popularity (all sold).

They had a big meeting just prior to my going down so I'm sure they were told to get rid of all the 2010 demos. The previous day the sales manager at Lexus was very adamant about not being able to go any lower than $33k.

The best part is that I really love the car and that is what really matters.
