Default DVD's with Nav system

My manual indicates I should be able to play a DVD (movie) if the car is stopped, yet I cannot get it to recognize the disk. I have tried several DVD's without success. Is their a trick or something?

The foot park brake must be pressed down. Mine will even play home burned DVDs.

You can play DVDs through the navigation system in the HS 250h? Wasn't aware of this.

This is only available if you have the Mark Levinson Audio package. If you don't have ML, you can't watch DVD movies in your HS.

I read the owners manual and it makes no mention (that I noticed) of the Mark Levinson package being required.

Puglet, I tried using the parking brake as well as the foot brake. Do you have the Mark Levinson package?

It should be listed as "Models with Mark Levinson Audio Package" or something of the like. The only Lexus vehicles that can play DVD movies/audio are those with Mark Levinson Audio systems. It was first featured in the 2006 IS250/350 and carried onto the rest of the Lexus line up. The only Lexus model in the USA that has no Mark Levinson option is the new CT 200h.

Sorry, yes I have the ML sound system. Quite frankly, it's no big deal. I think I've actually watched a music video once in the 16 months plus that I've had the car ( which by the way I absolutely LOVE ).

It was a separate option, and pretty rare. It will say "Mark Levinson" on the audio panel on your dash.

You can check VLine VL2 for your vehicle:
https://gromaudio.com/store/vline/le...n-upgrade.html

GROM-USB3 is for audio playback only.

We recommend placing it in the accessible location such as glove box or below glove box. Some people mount inside the dashboard. Here are a couple of examples:

Mine does not have the ML system ,but I can play DVD discs just fine. No need to release the pedal or all that, just pop the disc in and it starts. It should be worth mentioning that mine is a JDM model.
