Default 15k Maintenance

Anyone have this done yet? Just wondering on what I might expect it to cost from a dealership.

Thanks.

Just had mine done. no oil change - just tire rotation, replace keyfob battery, fluid fills, inspect everything. IMO, it was expensive at $75 for almost no real work, but my car needed washing and I got a break from the cubicle.

And this is why I do my own service. Doing an oil change on this car is a piece of cake.

There is zero reason to go to the dealership for the 15k. Even if you are the kind that thinks that every oil change MUST be done at the dealership to keep a car in perfect working order. Since there is no oil change, you can get a free tire rotation at America's/Discount Tire Co. Change the cabin filter, if it wasn't done at 10k. Even in my old Lexus, I never changed the key fob battery for 3 years or so before I sold the car.

Amen brother. Getting serviced at the dealer is a fools errand.

Discount Tire will rotate tires they didn't sell to you?

BTW, the key fob battery is replaced sooner than needed because you are SOL on the HS if the key fob stops working and you are in a garage or some place SOS doesn't work (or if you're like me and didn't renew the Safety Connect service). Call it a $5 piece of mind.

But yeah, I agree the 15k service isn't really worth a dealer visit for most folks. I was feeling particularly lazy that week, and it just seemed worth it at the time to avoid rotating the tires and washing the car myself :-)

According to Lexus Owners Manual when doing your tire rotation its just going from front to back and back to front. Not rotating opposite corners. Info for those who may not get this done @ the stealership.

BTW the Tire Pressure Warning System needs to be initialized after tire rotation for those w/ the 18" rims or when changing tire size (owners manual pgs 437-440 describes this procedure).

If your battery in your fob ever dies I was told to hold fob to door handle or started button and it will work. Anyone had to try it?
